Choice between regular first team football in Scotland and European exposure until Xmas - favourable cup draws may even give you a shout of winning one versus

Regular L1 football with Papa Johns Trophy exposure.

Doing well in either will likely see him in the Championship next season so unless the money with us (or another L1 club) is much more than he can get up there, doing another season probably makes sense.

Like the look of Burton's Jack Marriott, him and Alfie May would give the club quite an attacking threat next season!

Reading are lining up a move for Chelsea goalkeeper Nathan Baxter this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The 24-year-old shot-stopper is set to have his contract at Stamford Bridge expire at the end of the season and he is now preparing to leave the London club as a free agent.

24 with 185 first team appearances under his name - could be a good move

Yeah it could be a decent move for us. Given his age though, I wonder what it means for the careers of either himself, CBC or Andresson.

Would be my guess.

More like what does it mean for Bouzanis - honestly what stupid pointless signing he was if he's not going to be the #1 next season!

Which would be fair enough. Not sure how it helps Andresson's development if he isn't getting much game time, may be best shipping him out on loan for a couple of years as well to develop and assessing then.

If Baxter was a 2 year deal, we'd have both himself and Bouzanis leaving at the same time which could pave the way for both CBC and Andresson to come into the squad, if they are good enough/ready.

Yeah, weird one. But I guess he was probably a really cheap back-up plan if everything went to shit.

45 league appearances according to Whoscored, ~32 at Champ level.

Got an assist for Accrington in L1. Excellent pass accuracy for a keeper, at Hull.

Looks to have had a howler in the LCup though.

Averages 2-3 saves a game. Conceded about 2 goals a game at Hull last season, including 2 against us, which recommends him less.

Pretty promising looking.

I'd say CBC U23s, Andresson L1 or L2 loan, Bouzanis No. 2.

I'd be looking to move on permanently if I was Andresson, and another keeper was brought in ahead of me, whilst Bouzanis and CBC stayed.

Being fourth choice in League 1 is worse than being fourth choice in The Championship. Good reason for him to cut his losses and go out to try and make a career for himself somewhere else.

Think his days looked numbered the second we shipped out Soutwood and brought in Lumley and Bouzanis.

That was my thoughts really. If he isn't going to get any sort of regular game time with us in the future, which he possibly might not do with goalkeepers ahead of him, I'd probably look for a permanent move somewhere.

Best we can do is try and recoup a decent fee for him and stick a sell on % and/or buy back clause on the deal at that point.

David Stockdale available on a free.

This isn't me suggesting we sign him. It is more of a warning that we could sign him.

Being linked with Forest's Cafu and Lyle Taylor (combined aged 63).

Apologies if this has been discussed before but if Wilder is the new boss are there any ex Blades that he might want here ? That pleasant young man Billy Sharp for instance to see if he can do better this time or any slightly younger players ?

Anyone under 40 would count as slightly younger

Wouldn’t be against one or two of these kind of players but no more than that. And obvs only if they were in good shape and also cheap

We were after that pair in jan so a fair chance we still have some interest

Almost. Billy Sharp is currently 37 years old, he will be 38 next February.

If Reading acquire "Gene" then we'll have a manager with a handle on the ability of players, and their contract status, at SheffU, 'boro and Watford - a pretty decent set of squads to know about.
