Platypuss Are Everton out then?

For once in a while, just be a man and admit you cocked up. It won't hurt.

BTW Who goes through if Everton win 1-0 and there's no score in ET?

(a little clue - it ain't Chelsea)

I was well aware there are two legs in the semi final thank you Platypuss, even if you saw some half arsed gap for one of your hilarious jokes.

Oh, and if Everton win 1-0, which they won't, they'll choke on penalties as the only one who can take one is Johnson and he's been shit all season.

Is this where in your next post you pretend that you were actually well aware that it wouldn't go to penalties as Everton would win on away goals?

WeLOLLOL aware.

Have they changed the rules this season? Away goals have never counted in League Cup game. That is strictly for Europe.

It's been that way for legged ties in the League Cup for a pretty long time - not just the semis!

As a good example, we went out on away goals to Bradford back in 1999 (remember the Keith Scott goal?) despite drawing 3-3 on aggregate.

Wear your RawLOLie19 with pride

As much as I usually find Royalee to be an irritating little berk, I do have to support him on this occasion. Anybody who doesn't think Everton are effectively out of the running really does need therapy. It's pefectly reasonable at this stage in the game to LOL heartily at Everton. They had it on a plate last night. 1-1,Chelsea down to 10 men and they still oxf*rd it up.

If he'd said effectively or probably I might well have agreed with him. However, owing to his clueless previous (and future, it would appear) it was pretty obvious he thought it was a one-legged tie.

Despite the fact Arteta is Everton's penalty taker!

Although I accept your point about away goals being a shit rule in the League Cup (I don't have a problem with it in Europe because it kicks in at the end of 90 minutes in the second leg).

Agreed, having it kick-in after ET unfairly benefits the team playing away in the second leg IMO. As we found to our cost against Bradford.

What happens in Europe if after 180 minutes the aggregate is (say) 0-0 and after extra time the score is 1-1 - do away goals count then?

Yes. Unfairly still IMO.

Platypuss 1. You said Everton were out - they aren't.

2. You said Everton would have to score 2 goals - they don't.

3. You said an Everton 1-0 win would mean penalties - it wouldn't.

Want to have another go or do you think that's quite enough confirmation that you're actually thicker than a whale sandwich?

LMAO

I think Platypus won this argument with a knock-out.

That's not how it works Einstein.

You're the one who's so certain - you're the one who goes down Billy Hills with as much money he can scrape together from savings, bank loan, credit card, friends ( ) and family, and puts it all on Chelsea to go through.

Put your money where your mouth is.

Let us know when you've done it.
