Hate to say it but 'greed, no lack of effort just a lack of talent. Happy to be proved wrong but just seems John Mackie v2.0, hopelessly out of his depth at this level.

Nice to see everyone carrying on the tradition of picking their scapegoat early.

whats worse is he is probably only fit central defender for next game or two, can only hope (with rose-tinted glasses on) he steps up to the responsibility he now finds on his shoulders

Maybe if you actually went to games you could give an opinion.

I certainly wouldn't be writing off a player after one performance.

His only ability is his heading. But even if there were a game called headball he'd be league two at best.

I said in pre-season that I was seeing far too much of our Alex Pearce and Jem Karacan in the starting line-up for my liking. If these two are regular Championship-quality players then my name is Brendan Rodgers.

I think it was Alan Partridge who labelled him "The Wheely Bin"

I thought Pearce was the better centre back today. Mills needs to grow up big time if he's going to be our captain.

By the way, if Pearce did 'just oxf*rd off' then things would look very bleak as we wouldn't have any fit centre backs!

I'm not writing him off, but if today's performance is anything to go by, he is not up to the standard he should be.

It's not as if he had a few bad touches or poor tackle attempts, every single part of his game today was off.

It's not really one performance Ian it's something that's becoming clearer with each game. Pearce has now played league football over 4 seasons and are you really seeing a massive improvement? He looks no better today then he did when he first had a run in the team in 08/09.

Agree about donkey Pearce but Mills was a shower of shit today as well. Doesn't bode well at all seeing as Ivar is so injury prone. Think Mills is overrated & we probably paid too much for him & are now stuck with him. I hate the fact he is captain too - give it to Griff.

Did you actually watch any pre-season games. They've both looked solid and Jem has been one of our best players in pre-season. Hence his start today. Didnt do alot wrong today but he doesnt work well with Gunnar. Thought McD would have picked up on that by now. Pearce However, was not great. Works hard but like Long, has no footballing ability at all.
