Green
No Fixed Abode This is why the Mad Stad is such a terrible match day experience. Reading's worst mistake ever, was to move the ground so far out of the town.

Go to Stamford Bridge and within a few minutes, you have a multitude of places to eat and drink.

lol. Yeh, walk just 15 minutes and cram yourself into one of the dreaful pubs on Earl's Court Road.

I see your point Kes but Stamford Bridge is hardly your classic counter example.

Deary me m9. Pretty desper9 stuff from you. You can pick many places to drink within a short tube ride of the Bridge. But if you only want to choose the Earl's Court Road, that's your problem.

Hold on a second. What happened to all of the places within a few minutes of Stamford Bridge? Now you've got to take a short tube ride to find anywhere decent?

Probably quicker getting the bus from the Mad Stad back to the multitude of great establishments in Reading :!:

Green Don't agree with where you're seemingly headed here, Big Foot.

Why should football fans expect and accept shit beer? Times have moved on.

Bit :| all round really

For instance, I wouldn't go into Yates's and order a pint of bitter then moan that it tasted a bit off. What's the difference here?

The gripe should be at the club not providing the West Berks Brewery option, but for a pre-season friendly with an attendance of c.5k, that was never gonna happen

Yates doesn't cater for a clientele that wants decent ale. WBB's success last season shows that the Mad Stad does.
Oh dear, have you ever stepped foot inside a Yates's?

Very often have different Ales on tap

WBB's success? Selling 1,000 pints on matchdays where there were attendances close to 20,000...?

WBB are also not linked to Compass, the catering contractor at Madejski

Stamford Bridge is good because you can really quickly get away from Stamford Bridge to better places?

kind of says a lot

Even that is disingenuous, getting on the district line from Fulham Broadway straight after is tricky, and it's quite the schlep to the better transport connections at Earl's Court.

Not recently, because when I did it was a barn shithole that didn't serve a decent beer.

If it serves ales and you wouldn't complain if they're shit, then that's stupid.

If you're happy and think the match day experience at the Mad Stad is better than The Bridge - each to their own. I'd rather have a plethora of pubs to choose from than sit in a sterile environment like the Mad Stad concourse drinking terrible and overpriced food and drink.

Yep, I can be in Putney, then a few minutes later, up near the Bridge. 8)

No Fixed Abode the match day experience

It amazes me how people can't go a couple of hours without food/drink

Eat before you leave (or in a pub) - watch the game - eat/drink when you get home (or back to the pub).......

I'd rather sit in a stadium supporting my team. I wouldn't chose to go to a ground based on the catering.

And I suppose you're on of 'those' fans, that when you go to an away game, you go straight to the ground, instead of seeing some of the town/city first?

I've not had an alcoholic drink in a month. That will change on Saturday though.
