The usual pathetic signing by Reading, I'd imagine.

Was a decent forward with an eye for goal but a big part of his game was pace and you have to question what effect his injuries have had. However, he is an out and out striker which we don't really have and a partnership with Cox could have potential. If he is joining permenantly though, i'd be dissapointed if more than £500,000 was changing hands.

I saw £650k somewhere. Out of contract at the end of the season and out of favour makes that quite steep.

Is there anyone or anything anywhere which gives this any credence at all?

28 years old. 77 goals in 183 apps for Crewe and Bristol City between 2005 and 2012

Since the start of 2012/2013 he's scored 4 in 35 apps for West Ham and Cardiff plus another 4 goals in 16 apps for Wigan.

So I think his average is 1 goal every 2.6 games or so.

Fairly quick player as well, not sure on his ability to hold play up though.

But then as this rumour is probably a load of made up drivel I guess it won't matter....

Not sure there's anything with any credibility, but I did find this http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/readin ... ky-maynard

I think he's be a pretty good signing if he's anywhere near the player he was when West Ham signed him.

That site looks about as reliable as football-rumours or whatever it's called.

Would happily have him here, we are missing some pace from our forward line at the moment!

Someone on the Cardiff City forum I think the 27000 a week that he earns might have something to do with his offload

Hope he's prepared for a 50% pay cut.

Unless of course it's a loan with a view to signing in the summer which would make sense.

Looked very promising but then faded miserably the last few seasons, but, he'd be better than Blackman and HRK.

Every time the camera is on him his his mouth is open, you can see his small teeth and he is moaning at everyone from teammates to the officials. I wish he would shut his mouth as I am getting fed up of seeing Maynard's wine gums.

In hindsight, probably not worth the set up there, Rouge.

Presume we'll have to start calling him "Nick" rather than "Nicky" if he signs.

Hope this isn´t true, lots of injuries and obviously on the way down, scoring record over the past two years on a par with the Pog. No more deadwood please.
