I’ve decided I can’t be arsed to go tonight. The prospect of a 3 hour round trip in the wet and cold to watch 90 minutes of tedium didn’t fill me with much enthusiasm.

Lucky you. I only live a drive away. Left after we conceded 2nd and home now.

I will be extremely surprised if he is still here by 9 am tomorrow morning.

I suspect Stam will probably be in charge for at least a couple more games, maybe half a dozen. But this does feel like the point his exit became inevitable. Don't know what the crowd reception was like today, but it's likely to be hostile from here on unless results and performances improve significantly and for a sustained period. The odd win won't do it now, it might quiet things during the games we're winning, but the second a couple of poor results crop up again it'll be straight back..

There can be no debate now. Having lost at home to Burton and Birmingham (and failed to win in 6), Stam has to go.

The arrogance of the guy just now on the radio... WOW.

(Paraphrasing...)

Dellor: don't you need to change the style?
Stam: No.
Dellor: Uh...why??
Stam: Well because other teams do it and it works for them.

Dear Stam you stubborn f*ckwit...... let me explain... actually no I can't be bothered.

Ive now voted out. There's no choice really

But as I said on another thread maybe no one will have the balls to tell Stam to go
Would you fancy doing that in person?!

i think what we're all overlooking is that if we had beaten Burton, Bristol City, Barnsley and Birmingham, we'd all be up Stam's arsehole now.

But seriously, last night's result is the sort of result that gets managers fired. I just wish it wasnt so expensive in modern football to do so. We all know he's getting a big pay off to mess this up, right?

On last nights evidence, it will cost a lot more to keep him if and when he takes us down

I hope so, its just more a general *SIGH* at the win/win situations that managers can find themselves in. Although he is still a new manager and it wont look good on his CV to go on a crappy run.

Well yeah, and obvs if he gets sacked his is unlikely to walk into another job straight away. Or get as good a contract next time

Think that’s just football - can have players earning thousands a week who never do anything more than kick a football about for a couple g hours a day in training for 2-3 years

A good run of results in one season does not make a good manager - remember Ian Dowie ... he had that one season and that was it. I suspect JS will go the same way. Think he's a lousy manager and will fail wherever he goes.

Ok, so last year we made the playoffs.
Towards the tail end of last season, it was obvious that opposition teams had worked out how to largely nullify our system, and most of us accepted that this was a work in progress, and given time, the players would be more composed on the ball, and therefore better at implementing the system, and with the addition of the right type of striking options, would be more potent in the opposition half.
Most of us also saw the need for a credible and effective plan B.

Here we are, over half way through the following season, with serious money (for our club) having been spent, it appears that very few, if any of the issues that required improvement have been addressed. The confidence of some players has evaporated, and that lack of confidence is spreading through the team like a virus.

Losing becomes a habit. Fresh ideas are needed, so is a new approach, or relegation beckons. Stam out.

Someone on twitter, who is unashamedly itk, has suggested the pay off for sacking Stam would take us over FFP. Excellent.

FFP? Oh ffs

There's no way we should be anywhere near the limit even with last summer's transfer activity. Wages and agents' fees must be out of control. And for waht?

This club is a shambles compared to the Madejski/Hammond era.
