Ideal replacement for McCleary and /or Swift then.

Anyone have any idea who this fifth signing might be?

Why don’t we bring Wes Brown in. At 38 has oodles of experience and I’m sure would love to link up again with John O’shea. Think it would be the quintessential Reading signing.

Oliveira has been omitted from the Norwich squad flying out to their training camp...and as they have already signed two new strikers this summer...maybe this time around, the mystery player who is due to sign in "the coming days" could be him?

A bit meh tbh. Had a bit of a shitter last season and is hardly prolific. Think we could get better elsewhere for the money.

24 goals in his last 73 appearences is hardly prolific, you are right. But Bodvarsson only had 3 the season before last but got 10 for us in less outings.

A lot of those were off the bench aswell. If we can get him for a reasonable price could be a coup.

It’s certainly possible. Heard he was available for about 3m and Farke doesn’t seem to like him a great deal

And I think PC was trying to sign him at Swansea at one stage

George Evans off to Sunderland for a "six figure sum"?

Bit of a shame as I think he's potentially a good player but we do have too many central midfielders and he's probably keen to play 30+ games which he's unlikely to do here.

I don't think he was exactly happy there... only made 24 appearances too (7 goals). Extrapol8 that and you've got around a 13/14 goal season for a striker who didn't want to play under the manager (see the incident with Farke at Fulham).

He would be a good signing I think, sometimes players just need a fresh start.

Personally I would be offloading JVDB and Edwards before selling Evans, but no massive qualms about this. Talk Reading saying we rejected the bid, though.

We have been trying to offload JVDB though by all accounts. Who can blame other clubs for not wanting the bloke, utter liability.

Apparently some clubs want him but his wages are too high.

How much are we paying him!?

If it is any more than a tenner a week it is too much. I reckon he is on a tidy sum, must be circa 10K.

Yep. Yep.

He's a disgrace to the sport in my opinion. What about that display at Cardiff on the last day haring round like a madman, hacking people, handballing it in the most important game of the season. He's got to go
