Hendo Chris Hughton leaving Brighton.

Harsh. he is a good manager and done a good job with them (despite signing 7 or 8 useless players in the summer). They wont ever get anything higher then 15th so it's a weird one.

Not really - he nearly suffered the fate he seems to in the PL - getting relegated in his 2nd season - arguably if the officials had done their job against Chelsea then Cardiff would have survived.

With him in charge, Brighton would be favourites to drop next season - new voice needed there.

Hughton is a great Championship manager and will undoubtedly get another job there and get someone promoted.

Are West Brom still looking for a permanent manager after getting rid of Moore?

I believe so yes. Could all work out nicely.

Indeed, could see him doing a good job there. Assuming WBA don't go up through the POs.

Hughton's level is the Championship - there's been a lot of noise down here all season even when they were placed ok earlier on, a lot of expensive overseas signings in the summer (and last) have not cut the mustard and he had to revert to the old championship gang to get the points they needed.

But its still harsh - yes the football was boring but they got the points they needed.

I'm not a BHA fan at all but pleased they stayed up rather than Colin.

The Hughton dismissal is an utter disgrace. And to replace him with a failed Championship manager would only rub salt into the wounds.

Hughton should be looking to sue.

We have no idea of the real reasons for the sacking. Who knows what agreements and targets were made between Hughton and the board and how the conversations have gone since

Unless they've either paid up his contract or already reached agreement, there wouldn't have been an announcement.

You can't lose 5-0 at home to Bournemouth (one of the worst away sides in the Premier League) and expect to keep your job.
Up until mid-season his star did shine brightly but they have been dire since so quite understandable that Tony Bloom has decided to make a change.
I suspect Hughton won't be out of work for long-a very likeable bloke but, like Pulis, possibly too defensive in his approach especially at a time when football in this country has become generally a more attacking game.

You can't go comparing someone of Hughton's stature to a dinosaur like Pulis! How disrespectful.

Survival and an FA Cup Semi Final. What the hell did they expect? We're talking about Brighton ffs

The only people that know the expectations, and whether they were met or not, are those that were in the meetings between Hughton and those that run the club.

They both very much set out their teams not to lose, thus the similarity.

I assume Conte will go there. But nice for Pulis if he does land it!

Chelsea or the national job I would've thought.
