We won't go long ball.

We still played plenty through the middle of the pitch and Bowen has openly said they went more direct than he intended and we're best getting the ball down and playing.

We're just getting midfield and attack on the ball sooner and not fart arsing around in our own defensive third.

Great! Hope he gets a decent wedge and helps convince the simpletons there's nothing wrong with Bowen.

URZZZZ Scored just one goal against them in 5 games and that was a certain Sone

Our last results against them :
0-0
0-1
1-0
2-0
0-1
1-1
1-1
0-1

Yet Sky are always insistent on choosing it as a game :|

They know the second they drop it there will be a belter.

To be fair, it hasn’t been on TV for the last couple of seasons but before then, almost every season

Genuinely can’t think of when we’ve ever played QPR at home on a Saturday 3pm. Even this year, it’s Boxing Day. It’s really strange

Puscas

*super harsh on Ejaria, but think he's the better impact sub of him and Swift and just think the pair of them is too much, especially away to a team doing well
** no way I expect Meite to be fit

Why do you persist with Puscas?.

Why do you persist with Puscas?.

Three reasons. He's got plenty of potential. Joao and Meite are likely out. Chopping and changing helps not at all.

When Puscas gets one goal, I expect his 2nd, 3rd and many more to follow. His movement is good and he consistently gets in goal scoring positions. We simply have to show patience with him.

NewCorkSeth ------------------Rafael
---Miazga---Morrison---Moore
Yiadom-----------------------Richards
--------------Pele----Swift
------------------Ejaria
-----------Puscas--Baldock

Walker
Obita
McIntyre
Adam
Rinomhota
Barrett
Loader

Same tactics. Feel harsh on Rinomhota but Pele was decent. Cant justify dropping either Swift or Ejaria.

Seth, that's a good shout. Since we're now going back to a more 'traditional' way of playing, would you ever employ something like this (which gets both Rino and Pele on the park, and both Swift and Ejaria)?:

----------------------------------Rafael
----------------Miazga-----Moore/Morrison---------------------
Yiadom--------------------------------------------Richards/Obita
--------------------------Rino----------Pele-------------------------------
------------Swift------------------------------------Ejaria----------------
---------------------Puscas-------Joao/Meite--------------------------

(Btw, whoever was wondering if O'Shea will be departing too, I doubt it. He seemed fairly involved, influential and demonstrative on the sideline on Sat).

Old Man Andrews Think it is time to bring in Gunter for the very poor Andy Yiadom.

You can do better than that.

You will see on the "congrats you are the new manager" thread that I call for exactly that team and formation. Love me a 4-2-2-2.

One of the best things about Bowen's interviews is that he seems fully aware of how to get the best from Puscas and is prepared to indulge him for a bit. Not surprising I suppose when he was the DOF when we splashed out for him.

He's very direct, he will run in behind and he still continues to get across his defender in the hope that an earlyish cross will come. It's all there I believe we've just got to find a way to utilise it.

Actually QPR away last season may have been one of our better games under Gomes. We passed, we moved and we created opportunities. Too bad we rarely showed that performance again

It was still utter dross though which is the point JLow was making.

It really wasn’t utter dross though. You can even see on the BFTG reports there was a lot of optimism after that game

If you think that game was utter dross, then I hate to imagine what you think Gomes’ worst games in charge were
