Lower West
Hound PNE started well and looked pretty good at the back. Think they got a bit complacent/ surprised by us being fairly good tbh. Not a bad side, just on a poor day

With a new manager they had no idea what our style of play was going to be. Appeared to be set up for a high pressing game. A more direct style was something of a game leveller.

Preston seem very unlucky in that aspect actually!

15/16 : First game after Clarke was sacked
16/17 : First game for Stam
17/18 : Third game for Clement
19/20 : First game for Bowen

Preston were also our first opponents after Bowen joined as Consultant last season as well.

Championship is the best league in the World IMO. Very high standard for a second tier - better than most first tiers! And also not dominated by a small handful of teams every year like in most top tiers.

In terms of excitement I believe that our top 2 leagues are the best out of any in the world.

French League = a boring formality
German League = 2 teams really in it, last season was good and hopefully this will be
Spanish = was good a few years ago when Atleti were pushing the big two. Don't really find it good to watch
Italian = Meh

Kinda agree in the sense that pretty much any team starts the season in with a shout of a play-off place, but I'm not totally convinced by the overall quality. Some of the games I've seen on Sky this season have been very low grade football, but the thing that I have noticed more than anything in recent years is that fitness levels and athleticism have increased (possibly at the expense of technique).

It really is a wide open league this season. You really can not predict results from one week to the next. It may come down to strength in depth over the season. Still fancy WBA Leeds with Charlton the surprise packet, Brentford and Sheff Weds to up there.

Follow up to a 1-0 defeat at Wigan - this is either Forest sliding back to their "mean" following a good start or we are going to see a massive reaction from them on Saturday. What the last two results show is we have nothing to fear up there on Saturday.

Fancy Fulham too, though they have been far too inconsistent so far. Maybe inexperience of Parker will cost them.

For most of those games in that dire run which ultimately got Gomes sacked, a consistent theme was that the teams beating us weren't particularly good. I don't think this is a strong league this year; Leeds and WBA as you say are the only teams you look at and think that play-offs would be a failure.

Jackson Corner Still fancy...Charlton the surprise packet, Brentford and Sheff Weds to up there.

The ramblings of an armchair football fan who occasionally tunes into the EFL highlights ^^.

I'm not sure it's that teams aren't particularly good but that there are a lot of teams at a similar level, so teams can easily get on a good/bad run quite easily and a lot of games will be quite even, even if the sides are say 3rd and 22nd at kick off.

It's very good that Forest are out of form and we're doing a lot better recently surely?

Saw some of the 2nd half, Forest have nothing we can't cope with if we play the same as we did against Preston and QPR. They are no world beaters.

Hull 18 (6) shots last night, very good for an away side, if we can get at them we have a chance.

Collectively both Boro and Blackburn have 0 wins in 11 between them since beating us. Two horrible results

And a win in either of those would probably mean we wouldn't have changed manager but potentially be in roughly the same place points wise.
