Meite and McClrary on for Ejaria and Puscas. Puscas got a good header on target but couldn't generate enough power.

Game died down really.

Easy this champ lark isn’t it?

Wonder if anyone still thinks Jose was doing a good job?

Where does 10 points from 4 rank in terms of best start by a new Reading manager? I can't remember better.

The difference is shocking. And we're not even playing that well. Last two second halves have been weak. This first half wasn't a lot more than decent.

And yet Bowen is on 10 points from 12. Now THAT is turning it around, unlike Gomes last season.

Phew. I live to fight another day.

Funny that not 4 weeks ago our entire fanbase was frothing at the mouth and calling Bowen a snake.

Isn't it funny that not 4 weeks ago, everybody on here, Twitter and Facebook were frothing at the mouths and calling him a snake. Now they are absolutely loving him.

The hypocrisy of our fans is unreal.

Zammo https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1998%E2%80%9399_Reading_F.C._season#Results_2

First season at the Mad Stad fixtures, results and goal scorers. Certainly wasn't as bad as I had remembered. Shaky two opening games, and other than Bristol Rovers hitting us for six we were fairly solid throughout. Was at both Wrexham and Bristol Rovers away; 7 goals conceded pre-first home game of the season

Highlights were the Luton at home (obvs), Wycombe away (Martin Williams) and Stoke away (4-0 8) ) - Stuart Gray running from the halfway line to score the 4th. Scenes.

Great memories !

Fascinating to look back. We conceded so many goals to future Reading players - including 9 vs Bristol Rovers.

Great win away to the current Premier League champions as well!

Pretty sure the only person on here calling Bowen a snake was reading4eva and just about everyone laughed at him for being a dick.

Twitter on the other hand, now that's populated almost entirely by dicks.

The reaction on here was fairly favourable or at worse people were open minded. Social media was a complete hot bed of morons calling him a snake, that's who my reference was aimed at more than here.

Reading4eva gets it wrong again. And Bournemouth lost too so he will be fuming.

Appreciate you were talking more about Twitter etc. it was mpre in response to DD. I like to think that this place fosters a more considered outlook than 160 characters of hastily vented spleen.

Pleased for Gmac. Publicly at least, he's maintained his dignity in all of this.
