Joining Blackpool on a permanent basis apparently.

Only see reports of a loan deal, which would make sense.

Although it does seem it’s a permenant, which I’m not convinced by. He’s looked a decent prospect and you wonder whether the next news will be Gunter agreeing a new deal.....

I could live with us signing their big CF who ripped us one in the 2-2

May not be quite good enough in the longer term but would be great right now

Maybe he's not rated that highly behind the scenes. Whatever the reasons, he's clearly not getting any favouritism from his Dad.

Loan is great, perm is daft.

We have yet another good prospect who hasn't looked out of his depth, but would be being shipped out without a proper chance.

Presumably with Gunter re-signing as a 30 year old who is really only adequate back up, short term, not going to improve, quite negative on the pitch and likely more expensive. Or we're signing someone new, or planning on using Araruna there.

The amount of chances we've given Loader in comparison with his rather lack lustre showings is just a bit baffling.

Or he wants to get away from any unfair suggestions that he is getting favouritism from his dad, and forge a career somewhere else purely based on his ability.

Teddy Howe has joined Blackpool on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

All the best,

Well that sucks. Good luck to him.

If Gunter doesn't stay it looks pretty poor.

As ever we really don’t know the background. As fans we see things very simplistically.
He may have decided he wants regular football and we’ve not stood in his way. Even if Gunter decides to move we could always bring in another right back in the summer.

Disappointed with this but I forgot he is 21 and he'll be looking for regular starts. Probably doesn't help that we've just signed a Brazilian who can also play in his position.

I presume that Reading must see Tennai Watson as the next specialist right back in line after Yiadom rather than Teddy Howe

Always presuming Reading don’t sign Chris Gunter on again of course...

After his good performance the other night I am a bit disappointed with this one.
I'm guessing but being the son of Howe senior may well prove more difficult for him with his peers than we know.
Good luck to the lad and I hope we got a decent fee/ sell-on clause for him.

After a bit of reflection I think this is a good move for Howe and fair play to him

Rather than take the easy route and stay as back up he has backed himself to go to the other end of the country and prove himself

From our point of view I’d like to have kept him, but maybe this was driven by him more than the club itself

It's a good move for him in many ways, but let us not forget it will involve him having to move to Blackpool, which must feel pretty shit.

Fair play and good luck - would imagine we have done as we often do and made the player aware of the bid, told him we are happy for him to stay and fight for his place but if he wants to go out and try us luck elsewhere we won't stand in his way.

Hope he does well.

Obviously the lure of a pissing sink in his bedroom was too much to resist.

Good luck to him, think he has made the right move, at the right level for him to develop.
Yaidom and Gunter till the end of the season is still pretty good options, with Rino as an emergency cover

For him, it is a good move which will help him in the future. For us, a bad move, I feel that in a few years (or less) we will view him as someone who we wished we had kept.

he's 21 will nearly be 22 by the start of next season and still nowhere near displacing first-team players. he's played what? 1 game? :| How long are we supposed to keep youngsters for, for goodness sake? it's an Acadamy not a prison. Would he be displacing Yiadom in two years time? doubtful, in fact I would even hang my hat on it and say no. It's quite strange this weird obsession our fans have with our academy products that we never want them to leave.

This isn't a mistake we will not live to regret this. It's a good move for both him and the club and anyone else who thinks differently is just a bit weird
