If any club will feel at home and be unaffected by playing in an empty stadium with no atmosphere it’s Reading to be fair.

WestYorksRoyal On this xG thing other fans seem obsessed with, it doesn't make sense.

Looking at the stats, our expected goals and expected conceded are very close. But they're different. Our xG is made up of a lower volume of high quality chances, which our in form strikers are converting.

The xG against us is a higher volume of low quality chances, which adds up to the same. But we have a good keeper, and you wouldn't expect him to get beaten by low quality chances often.

So basically, we're creating higher quality chances which we're converting, but our rivals don't consider it sustainable.

Tbf we need to bring Swift back to blaze a few randomly over to get our averages up.

Or Psucas to miss a few sitters?

This made me lol, we are so tinpot.

Although if they look at our recent home record with crowds it's abysmal.

Doing brilliantly but clearly some are suffering negativity withdrawal symptoms.

Swift's return will present our in form strikers with even more chances to convert and Puscas is pretty good at scoring goals when given the chances. Meite too misses sitters but scores great goals at other times.

I don't understand the hate people have for little old Reading.

We've never really been a horrible team, or a bug spending team, or any of the usual cliches.

We're just a team who have had some recent success, in decades of fair to middling.

Our stadium is a lot like many such as Brighton.

What's the beef?

I do enjoy a salty fan though, particularly that Nottingham fan who wouldn't swap a single player. That's priceless.

Forest wouldn`t take Rafael over their keeper, that's priceless.

If I remember correctly Si Forest lives in Bracknell, to prove my point from the other day!

I am not sure if anyone still mentions it at all but Forest won the European Cup, twice, 40 years ago. but sadly they haven’t played in the top flight this century.

WoodleyRoyal Brighton north stand chat

I hope they fall away. No doubt some of their nobhead fans are already wondering how to reword their poncy 'record' chant.

getting a bit of understandable abuse for the wage bill and FFP.

Sad thing is really that is all due to one man imo - that being Gourlay.

The side last night - only 3 of the players involved cost a fee. The entire first 11 cost 6m - 1m for Moore and 5m for Joao. 3 Academy lads in there. Swift and Yiadom were frees as well. Obvs Puscas and Ejaria cost a few quid but nothing too outrageous

Thats brilliant tbh and should be admired, but because of the ridiculous Gourlay contracts we get labelled a big spending team trying to buy their way out of the division

Mine, and probably Leon's, comment was certainly tongue in cheek :)

Surely our Expected Goals is every time we take a shot, we expect to score.

7 wins, 22 points and 6 clean sheets in 8 games. Only stats that matter.

I am a fan of statistics including xG but to decide we're shit because we've got the xG of a mid-table team is too simplistic of a view.

Mate, I will do it next to you. And then I will donate my house to any charity.

As I said in another thread, thank god its them and not watford, Bmouth or Norwich pushing on. Reading are irrelevant and its not a case of catching them, it is a case of letting them fade away. I know about 20 Reading fans who I see regularly when playing football or at work and they all think they have already used up their whole seasons luck, they are loving it but they know they are rubbish.

 think we may need to keep tabs on this one

I think they're humouring him seeing as Brentford are now fully signed up members of the media w@nk bank.

Jagermesiter1871 "Referees will favour the Southern team, the traditionally bigger team, the most recently PL side and the current higher placed team. In just about that order."

Thought he gave us nothing tbf

Do refs really favour Southern teams? Is that a genuine theory? I thought old Trafford was the epitome of refs being biased. Those Northern monkeys really do come up with some weird theories. #sad#jealousy
