Premier Ressie Fixtures

by Turns8 » 12 Jul 2006 08:46

See that all the ressie fixtures next season will be evening kick-offs....

I wonder if ST will still be able to get in FOC or will the club now start to charge!

They have initially said they will open Lower West as per ressie games in the past...Do you think more than 3000 will attend!

They could prove quite popular this year, esp due to the cost of Premiership football and availability of tickets. Could prove a big hit with families with football mad kids esp as some big name players could well be involved.

As far as attendance goes I would assume it would not only depend on the opposition but who would be playing for the opposition. If a player like Michael Owen was returning from injury (maybe sometime next season!) then that would push up attendance.

If you're going to use an example at least use one who is in our reserve league.

Be warned, the big clubs very very rarely play any first team sqaud members in the reserve teams, so in effect it's youth football.

They'll play one or two, usually players recovering from injury or a player that they can't get rid of.

You do invariably get injured stars playing to gain match fitness though...Maybe Youth football, but it's still highly talented kids...afterall several of the Arsenal kids who played in the Carling Cup against us were regulars for the Arsenal ressies last year...

Its a bit sad, but some of the away matches caught my eye too. Spurs away at Stevenage (near where my Dad lives) stood out, along with Chelsea at Aldershot and Arsenal at Barnet.
