Reading are getting ready to host Peterborough United in the second round of the League Cup tomorrow (Tuesday) night at the Madejski Stadium. After Saturday's Premier League game at Sunderland was called off at late notice, there's a chance the Royals may field a slightly stronger side than might have been expected. However, expect plenty of changes to the first choice starting eleven. Nicky Shorey may well make a return to the Reading team since re-signing in the summer and will be looking to impress to increase his chances are getting into the first team. After two slightly dubious performances from Adam Federici in the league, Brian McDermott looks likely to give Alex McCarthy a chance to prove himself in goal. An impressive performance from McCarthy may have a quick impact on the league team with many fans calling for McCarthy to be given a chance. Jason Roberts may appear after returning from his suspension that has ruled him out of the season so far. After this game The Royals will have to wait until Sunday 16 September for their next action, when Spurs visit Reading in the Premier League.

The last time Reading met Peterborough United was a 1-3 away defeat in March earlier this year. However, United's last two visits to the Madejski Stadium, also in the Championship, resulted in a 3-2 victory and a huge 6-0 win for Reading.

On the day ticket prices are £15 for adults, £5 for under 16s and £10 for other concessions. Those prices may sound a bit steep for such a low key fixture - but there are discounts for advance purchase and for season ticket holders who buy in advance. Advance purchase adult tickets are selling for £10 and adult season ticket holders will pay £7. To get the cheap prices you can buy on-line today.
