Another Relegation Clash At Newcastle

Reading face another crucial game, in their battle against relegation from the Premier League, as they visit Alan Pardew's Newcastle United this weekend. The Magpies have joined Reading in relegation trouble after a poor run of form, while Reading have picked up a few points from recent fixtures to give some outside hope of avoiding the drop. Newcastle are just five points ahead of Reading now, meaning a victory for the Royals would go a very long way to closing the gap. A Reading win, although unlikely, would be Reading's third from four league games and could even take them out of the bottom three.

Newcastle's last four results:

United will be favourites to win despite their poor form. Reading's last two trips to Newcastle have both resulted in 0-3 defeats for the Royals and Reading are of course without an away win all season so far. Reading have managed just 2 points from 11 away games in the League.

Despite the continual snowfall and sub-zero temperatures the game is set to go ahead. Newcastle have an excellent record of games going ahead in poor weather. The biggest problem will be for travelling Reading fans trying to get across the country in time for kick-off tomorrow. Meanwhile, the Reading team are making the journey today via coach ahead of the major snow and are expected to be arriving this afternoon.
