Re: BFTG Preston (H)

It was a good win, especially as we made Preston look pretty dreadful. The best bits were when we passed the ball, like Gomez would have wanted, and the worst bits were Bowen's clueless goal kicks where everybody crowded over to the left, so I am agnostic on whether the change of manager has done a...

Re: BFTG Preston (H)

Yep. More direct - no fannying about with short GKs and constant passing between CBs. Moore on the left side of defence. Wing backs in position more and much better cover for them from the defence, midfield and attack. Much better marking and tracking, generally looked a lot more organised and sure...

Re: BFTG Preston (H)

A lot of good stuff said and most people on the same page. So will only add: 1) Gomes 7 Impressed by him for the first time today. Really was very good in winning the ball but also in attack. Some great balls I didn't expect from him. Not fair to call him a defensive midfielder when clearly he is qu...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Well the notes you are using definitely refer to the Meite chant (in F major if anyone cares - chords F and C7 only) A A G F We've got Mei-te A A G F Ya - kou Mei-te F A A A G F A G I just don't think you un-der-stand (never known if these are quite the right words) G G G F E He signed on a free G ...

Re: CONFIMRED - Mark Bowen

What really stank about the Gunter and GMac situation was that they were banned from even attending the stadium on match days. I get that a manager has to make tough / unpopular decisions but that just didn’t sit well with me. Lucky them. To be fair, sometimes they didn't even show up when they wer...

The Royal Forester The best bit of luck a manger can get is, if he can sack a manager and then appoint himself as manager.

Re: CONFIMRED - Mark Bowen

I just heard an interview with Bowen where he says he purposefully gave Gomes wrong advice in order to get him sacked, pressed the owners to get him sacked and replace him with someone Welsh and already at the club (but didn't specify himself), shredded all manager applications pretending they didn...

Re: CONFIMRED - Mark Bowen

Regarding Gunter and GMac? It makes absolute sense to bring them back into the squad (Gomes jettisoning of them was a fair risk, but it failed). However, Baldock would be the ideal partner for Puscas if he wants to play two up front. I was not a fan of the Joao signing and haven't changed my mind. ...

No thanks, up and down career. If any good he'll have loyalty issues again I'm sure.

Better off with Bown tbh, if he has impressed sufficiently.

I'd invite Maffff, LordCKS, RoyalBlue, Strap and anyone else currently having a tantrum at Gomes sacking and Bowen's appointment to training. Then I'd kill them. Burn them. And Bury the ashes under one of the training pitches. And we'd all be happier people. Erm... #pigsinformed Agree with ...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

not sure it's quite sung on those notes, perhaps it's a little flat at times, but I think you are referring to the "hoof" chant. My understanding is that it is in reference to old criticisms that we would just"hoof" the ball upfront. Not 100% sure tho Thanks. What are the lyrics...
