Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Don't know if it answers my question but reports McDonalds are shutting all UK stores from tomorrow indefinitely. Surely this is huge? It appears to be in response to not being able to properly enforce social distancing despite their best efforts. Probably inevitable really. How hard is it to shut ...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

So what are your thoughts as regards football getting back in operation. Personally think it’s going to be June at the earliest before getting fans back to games. I actually suspect the leagues/FA may resort to behind closed door games before then and also will consider scrapping FA Cup and playoff...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Peak is forecast to be in 3-9 weeks time in the UK. While it might be amusing to travel around and care very little. If you've an older/elderly relative. Give a thought to the fact that there's insufficent capacity in ICU to cope with a major epidemic. People will either recovery from the virus natu...

Re: BFTG Brum

It’s frustrating because he did fairly well at AEK last year and I was really hoping he would settle and do well for us this season. As it stands for next season, Barrow may return and we might also take up the option to sign Masika? With McCleary, Popa and Boye leaving. I can’t see Bowen wanting O...

Re: BFTG Brum

Someone’s obsessed I like him. Needs time to settle into Championship football. Likewise would play better in a settled team with a defined role within it. As with Meite and Miazga plays with his heart on his sleeve. Gives 120%. If anything was trying to hard to impress in his brief appearances off...

Re: Do we dare to dream?

URZZZZ
Noticed that quite a few of the playoff chasing teams play each other too so there’s always chances to close the gap there

Ideally we need to be playing them to close the gap. As it is someone is going to pick up points whatever the result.

Re: Rival Watch

I prefer my what ifs in the form of "what if Gomes hadn't been the hopeless incompetent in charge at the start of the season". What if we'd thanked him for keeping us up, parted ways and appointed Bowen in June? Or had stuck with Clement. After all Bowen is learning on the job. Not sure w...

Re: Best centre back pairing

Teams pressure us but leave Morrison open, the ball has to go to him and he is then not able to find the good pass out of defence and the players who should be receiving the ball are all marked. Nothing unusual in that tactic. That's why Stam offloaded Jake Cooper. Wanted centre backs that were com...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Birmingham City (a) sponsored by mid table obscurity

Given how we've structured the Ejaria, Joao and Puscas deals, is signing Pele and Miazga this summer realistic? I doubt we'd have much left in the bank for the wingers we need. Persuade Barrow to come back? I raised this yesterday. I don't know what the deal is with Miazga. He would be a brilliant ...

Re: BFTG Brum

Only trouble is he and Swift are too similar and shouldn't really be starting in the same team. Swift is a far far better all round player. Hardly surprising given their ages and relative experience. I'd say Ejaria is way better defensively than Swift was 2 years ago, and also technically more gift...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Birmingham City (a) sponsored by mid table obscurity

Weird game, Birmingham seemed in control until Miazga’s goal and then we dominated Rafael 7 Yiadom 6 Miazga 8 Morrison 8 - both centre halves played well, taking away the poor back pass from Miazga Richards 6 Swift 6 Rino 7 Meite 7 Ejaria 4 - unfortunately another really poor display Olise 5 - stru...

Re: Rival Watch

So yeah Hull are going down Think Barnsley and Luton are going. Depends on how much Charlton will be affected after their home disappointment to Middlesbrough today. Hull are the one side in total free fall (9 defeats and 2 draws from their last 11 league games). The unknown element, of course, is ...

Re: BFTG Brum

I've been quite critical of Ovie since the turn of the year. Perhaps he simply needs a break. Today did he drop during the first half and look for the ball. Far too often the game seems to bypass him. Putting all the onus on Swift. Olise is relatively fresh. Not sure how he would stand up to a 40 pl...

Re: BFTG Brum

Finally a team that can turn games around. Even better when it'a away from home. Plenty of character in today's starting line-up. After lots of false dawns. There does seem to be a settled core squad that just needs a little refinement for next season. Rather than a major rebuild. Gomes and Miagza ...
