Re: Royals on the Box/Internet Thread

RoyalBlue they didn't seem to know that he is a commentator/pundit for BBC Berks!

They knew he was. As said they looked forward to meeting him every time Reading played there. Mick Gooding started his playing career at Rotherham! Probably went there as well as Reading manager.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Rotherham united (a)

This commentary is the best thing that’s happened in the last 6 games. You have to be kidding me. Bloody dreadful! Nah, couple of Rotherham blokes having a chat about football. I’ll take this sort of thing over the faceless big sport network commentary who barely knows the league every time. At lea...

Re: Rival Watch

I really do believe our best first team on paper is as strong as anyone in this league. It is difficult to pinpoint where it is going wrong. Here are a few ideas. Very inconsistent Goalie.Although he does have hot streaks. This contradicts what I have just written ! Squad depth is very shallow. We real...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wycombe Wanderers (a)

Agree. The can for this debacle has to be carried by the manager, his negative team selection and frustrating intransigence to not shift from 4-2-3-1 formation when it’s patently obvious that would be a better fit for the players currently available (not to mention, if it’s used over a few games, g...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wycombe Wanderers (a)

His tactics have now been found out and the team are struggling. This is where a good manager earns his money, however, looking at Pauno's game management he clearly is lacking in the tactical department and is now clearly struggling with no plan B and the inability to change things up (Both format...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wycombe Wanderers (a)

I'd prefer boring 0-0 draws, rather than Pauno tinkering with the core of the team in order to meet the demands of the owners and achieve promotion. All this must win or you are out is becoming repetitively boring. Give a manager sufficient time to build a team worthy of challenging at the top level.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wycombe Wanderers (a)

Yep - we are currently operating under the worst case scenario of no rotation and very late subs. It continues to compound the issue (but lol at all the bedwetting here) Not justified? We’ve just put in one of the most inept, blunt, incompetent displays against one of the worst teams the championsh...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wycombe Wanderers (a)

Not justified? We’ve just put in one of the most inept, blunt, incompetent displays against one of the worst teams the championship has seen for a while and we are supposed to be challenging for promotion. Bristol City was hardly impressive. Far from it I thought. BC on the night were extremely poo...

Ascotexgunner I'm one of Pauno's biggest fans but this is just mystifying me tactically.

We haven't changed tactics all season. This is Stamesque now.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (h)

I've been banging on about how we get bullied against these ugly teams. So I can sort of understand why we might think Semedo helps as he has got a physical presence and is not afraid to put himself about. I think the balance between tackler and play makers is something we havent resolved and perha...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (h)

...maybe....but maybe that’s the ‘problem’ of having a fan as a commentator? FWIW, Esteves is not the answer to anything imho I think Esteves is adjusting well. Played out of position today he slid a lovely pass to put Yids in on goal. Yet according to Dellor had done nothing since being on the pit...

Re: Rumour - Richards to Everton

Not sure what’s happened. Omar was absolutely outstanding pre injury but been oridinary since and really poor today. I would still see him as comfortably first choice though. Head turned by the interest. Lost the application to succeed. Loader is hardly making waves in the Porto B team. Who sit bot...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (h)

I am already mentally preparing myself for this club finishing 7th. Bye Omar, enjoy Germany. Hope we at least sign McIntyre. I can't see this season ending in anything other than playoff disappointment, whether failing to make them, or limping to 5th-6th and struggling to compete thanks to more inj...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (h)

Today was tactically inept. Colin set up Middlesbrough in a 3-1-4-2 formation. Pressed high up the pitch and stopped our only style of play in it's tracks. Seems we are heading back to the Stam era. Once sussed out there's no alternative plan.
