Re: Randell Williams and Andy Rinomhota

Playing the CM2 2020 edition (and looking at match reports from that season) has reminded me what a good player Rinomhota was for us. Brings energy, and has a good long pass on him too. He'd be a great signing at this level. Was shocked to discover at the weekend he was without a club. As has been s...

Re: CONFIRMED: Leam Richardson

Surprised at the negativity about the coaches. I'm not sure what to make of the appointment (though he did come across well in the interview) but his backroom staff is one thing that makes me positive. They're a lot more experienced than what we've had this season. Wouldn't rule out a top 6 push, wo...

Re: Nostalgia thread

Wasn't sure where to put this but figured this was the best place. Started playing the 1995 Championship Manager 2 game and cheated to get Hislop, Scott Taylor and Osborn back to the club :D Also, mentioned this in another thread but last week discovered that someone had done 2020 and 2021 versions ...

Re: Players

Based on what i've seen of him (which admittedly is only 2 games) I think O'Connor is worth a mention. To cut a long story short, found 2020 and 2021 versions of the old Championship Manager 2 games a few days ago and it was interesting to see his stats and his valuation (the 2021 stats didn't seem ...

Re: Hunts gone

A little bit surprised. It leaves a slightly unpleasant taste. Couhig's statement is pretty dignified. The club is always bigger than any one manager, player, or indeed, owner. I guess two weeks until the next significant fixture means this is a good time to do it. BIB - this. Definitely surprised ...

Re: Hunts gone

Surely it'll be Bloomfield? Good L1 record, actually gave it a good go at Luton given the league position he inherited (they won 6 of their last 12 last season). And of course a big connection with Couhig and JJ. Quite possibly still lives locally? I think it'll happen quickly, and I'd be happy eno...

Re: FA Cup 2025-26

Assuming the TV deal's the same as last year, there'll be 5 live games across the BBC and ITV. Here's last year's fixtures just for reference: Friday 1 November 2024 Tamworth v Huddersfield Town Saturday 2 November 2024 Northampton Town v Kettering Town Sunday 3 November 2024 Sutton United v Birmin...

Re: Injury watch 2025/26

I saw a Woking fan say that since their regular keeper had returned from injury Norcott hadn't been playing, so maybe the club felt that if he wasn't getting games there was no point him being there.

Re: FA Cup 2025-26

Fox Talbot I’ll take Eastbourne or Whitstable away please.

+1.
Even Whitstable at home would be interesting for me.
I'd also add in Slough Town away.

Re: Players at Reading who you had completely forgotten about

Saw Chris Armstrong mentioned. Player of Season 08-09 and revealed, after retiring, he'd been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in that season. Fondly remembered here. Yep, Armstrong was class that season. Very sad end to his career. I recall him coming back for a couple of games in the 10/11 seaso...

Re: Players at Reading who you had completely forgotten about

I liked him. Called himself Pélé. Wasn't his real name. It's almost like I can't quite believe he was ever real. And someone I've never forgotten, but I reckon many will have done: Ulysses de la Cruz. I remembered his goal, the long run from one end of the pitch to the other, but I had forgotten th...

Re: Royals TV Match Commentary; better or worse?

Are you in the States? In the UK, the Berkshire feed usually cuts out a few minutes before three, to be replaced by a general Saturday goals programme. (I think it's this one: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p099jr69.) Very occasionally, I think someone forgets to flick a switch, and the Berkshire...

Re: Royals TV Match Commentary; better or worse?

I assumed the BBC RB commentary wasn't available online due to copyright reasons, but discovered during the Wycombe game that you could listen live on the BBC Sounds app. Don't know how long that's been the case but I'm wondering if its since the club stopped taking the commentary. I'm fortunate to ...

Re: Predictions for this weekend

If Orient make short work of Huddersfield, the atmosphere at the stadium could get deflated very quickly, hope 1871 and the surrounding blocks are up for a good bit of cheering regardless of what is going on in the Orient game because the team deserve the support. Was about to say similar. We need ...

Re: Nostalgia thread

https://royals.org/matdoc/080297.html Anyone have memories of this game? I must have seen it on Final Score as I vaguely remember Quinn in goal and Morley scoring. Think that was when I first became properly aware of Morley. Having looked into it more there were no Prem games that day because it was...

Re: Snitching on fans

I'd report it - calling fans, particularly those on their own a C--- is just not on. I go to games on my own, and despite being a fully grown adult, I still feel a bit self-conscious and lonely somehow. To be targeted like this would probably cause me to leave. I totally get this. I've never been t...

Re: Nostalgia thread

Bumping this up as i downloaded Championship Manager 2 9697 last month. Up to the start of October and currently 22nd on GD.. despite being +4 points compared to the corresponding games in real life. Early days but can't believe that we stayed up that season  Early contenders for POTS - Boris...

Re: Man down -SCIAG

I’m so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you, CR, and his family and friends. He was a great poster and I always used to enjoy his posts, especially on the academy. He was so knowledgeable on the youth that I was always convinced he must have a connection to the club. He’ll be missed on here...
