Re: Gomes missed targets

Have Chelsea quoted £20m? Or is that absurd paper talk?... Pre Reading (a bottom quarter of championship side) Miazga had failed at Nantes and was reasonable at Vitesse; there is no real basis for a £20m valuation. If it gets to the end of the transfer window, Miazga might have a chance of coming h...

Re: Rumour - John Bostock

Excellent player for Champ level who after being poorly advised as a 15 year old, "disappeared" and built a decent career in Belgium and France. Would do very well in a sitting 2 with Rino linking defence and attack. Would be very excited by this signing, so won't happen. He is a London la...

Re: The generic transfer thread

It prooves how insane football is that Harry Maguire is being rated more expensively then De Ligt.... I always said that the 1 transfer that started all this and ruined all transfer fees forever was when DARREN PFUCKING BENT went 30 million. That is a misunderstanding of a transfer fee. Maguire isn...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

More than happy with this. Solid defender who did well last season with Brum - who were doing well themselves until it became clear they were getting a points deduction. We've added a player with over 500 appearances and 2 L1 titles to his name, whose club didn't want him to go for nothing and still...

Re: New Kits 2019/20

Huddersfield launch their actual kit: https://www.htafc.com/news/2019/july/towns-real-home-kit-is-revealed/ Fair play in many ways to Paddy Power as they will not be taking up the shirt space with their logo so the shirts will be plain. The fake launch probably got them more exposure than they would...

Re: New Kits 2019/20

Perhaps this PaddyPower thing might not be a prank as Huddersfield wore the shirts in a friendly against Rochdale. FA are now investigating... https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/fa-contacts-huddersfield-over-new-kit-sponsor-100010575.html I would imagine friendlies are exempt from the rules as they a...

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

So as I mentioned a few posts ago, unless Football Ventures get the hotel their buy out of the club simply won't work. The buy out has been approved by the EFL on this basis. From what the administrators say, this could take 2 more week to sort out, so the week before the season at the earliest - th...

Re: Speculation: Ethan Amapadu

Time to forget Miazga. A club has come in for him and they’ve been told the asking price is ... £20,000,000. Interest over. That is a fee that equates too, we don't want to sell but if you stupid enough to pay 20m then you can have him. Would be surprised if Miazga goes anywhere permanently this su...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Maybe, just maybe we're using pre-season to try a few things out. Working out angles and patterns. What might work What might not given this pretty important rule change* Some times we got caught out. Several times we also sprung the press by passing around it or chipping it into a spare midfielder...

Re: Will Gomes stay?

Well Tim Dellor has tweeted this morning that Gomes told him that he turned down a job at a "European Champions League" club to see the job through - if true good to hear but also suggests he wouldn't be short of suitors if he decides to walk. would have been one of these. Shakhtar Donets...

Re: New Kits 2019/20

The Huddersfield kit has to be a wind up surely - part of the "banter" launch with Paddy Power.

Would have throught that the sponsor logo breaks EFL rules and is too big?

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Hound It looks even more risky now the keeper doesn’t have to play it outside of his area

I’m a big defender of playing out from the back but even for me it looks too much

It looks too much as it is new and you need to get used to it. Back passes always looked risky when that rule first came in.

Re: Next Season's Squad.

We'll almost certainly get some players in this summer. I wouldn't pick a team and put Olise in a defensive CM midfield position, because I don't think it will ever get as far as needing to do that I'd like to see Richards get some game time as a left mid/winger. I think he could do a better job th...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

We will definitely get some players - would expect mainly loans or possibly an unattached player or two. The only positive with the latter, is we could still sign those after the 8th August. At the moment, I would say the club are still trying to shift those left back at Hogwood to maximise what we ...

Continues the good defensive form this pre-season.

Only one goal conceded from open play in 4 games now.
