Re: VAR

Another joy-sapping moment from VAR yesterday. I know fans of VAR will say it's the correct decision by the letter of the (revised) law, but that change to the interpretation has only been brought in because of the use of VAR, and, IMO, it's totally against the spirit of the game. Such moments are ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : West Bromwich Albion (a) sponsored by as hard as it gets

WBA undefeated in 7 at home, so a point will be an excellent result even after yesterday's performance and result. Key thing for me will be to see if we can replicate that level of performance or near to it.

Re: Where will we finish?

I'm at no idea now. Lose tomorrow and can easily see us with 0 from 15. Win and we could get to 7 from 15. So yeah, :!: :?:

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Sanguine On that point around the final fixtures, I wonder if the league would reschedule to ensure all teams played on the last day?

Not sure how you can ensure 23 teams all play at the same time?

Hoping to get to this as will be staying at the in-laws about 30 mins away. Hoping I'll be able to buy and pick up at the ground - asked the club if that will be possible.

Re: Gunter, GMac and 'the Reading way'?

I agree it's a strange way to treat two of our most long serving players ... On the face of it, I agree. Maybe they've not taken the news well and are moping around/being unprofessional? (sounds very out of character for these two though). Perhaps they are not being forced as a punishment but as a ...

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

I guess it would be the former? Not too sure though. Would it just mean relegation though? Oh it would absolutely mean booting out the league. I am just talking more about what happens to their place in the league. Not allowing them to have played a game leaves the FA's options quite open Going on ...

Re: Are we screwed?

We haven't really bloated the squad - something like 22 players left this summer and 10 have been signed (admittedly Miazga/Ejaria make up 2 of those numbers who left/came in). Signings have been in areas where we were light on real options: With Miazga and Morrision we now have 3 senior CBs and an ...

Re: Rival Watch

Notts Royal Looks like Hull have pretty much signed a new team today too - so no idea what to expect on Sat.

Could be a very disjointed performance from both sides, or an absolute cracker!

Signed 3 very average players and Pennington who is decent.

Until he is pictured in the shirt, just assume this was all a deadline day pile of crap.

Franchise FC Are we about to get £50m from Wolves for Loader ?

We seem to have a decent relationship with Chelsea - if he's not in Lampard's plans, they may well let him come for game time and pay a large % of his wages.

Re: Kenedy - Rumour

This has to be absolute bollocks but I thought that about Puscas yesterday.

Who the fcuk knows what is happening this week. Plays on the left mainly doesn't he? Barrow out, Kenedy in?

If he comes in as well and we aren't at least looking at the play-offs then Gomes will be looking for a new job.

Re: Rumour - Danny Loader to Wolves

CF confirming he's 'close' to joining Yep, will be surprised if this one doesn't go through. Think it's a mistake for his career if he does as best he can hope for this year is a loan (not to us) or U23 games. Can easily see him being there for 2 or 3 years and moving back down to the Championship ...

Re: Financial Fair Play

The long and short of it is like 90% of clubs outside the PL, we are totally reliant on very rich owners and if they get bored we are likely fcuked unless another very rich person buys us.

Re: Financial Fair Play

We're having one last hit at it. Either we're going up this year on 107 points or the club is going out of business end of the season. The owners were only ever here for the short term, if the club goes into administration why do they care? They just move on to the next club and have another make o...

Re: Rumour - Danny Loader to Wolves

Can't help but think Wolves is the wrong move for him but if he won't sign a new deal or his agent is advising him not to, then we should, however reluctantly, cash in.

Some rumours that we have accepted an offer for Barrow and that Loader to Wolves is looking more likely. But it's deadline day so who knows what is true.

Gunter looks to be leaving prob on loan but we are pushing for a sale.

Re: Any more out the door?

Wolves stepping up their interest for Loader apparently. I'm always loathed to lose good talent, but he has a year left on his contract and Olise looks a more exciting prospect at the moment. If we can squeeze £5m out of him, not ridiculous in today's market, I'd be tempted to accept. If he's down ...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Had it on decent authority that the EFL has approved a transaction that has allowed Dai to buy the training ground at Bearwood at a profit, hence freeing up our recent FFP restrictions. The ground was already sold last season. However, it does also feel like some good structuring of deals will help...
