Re: MATCHWATCH : Leyton Orient (a)

"Al Habsis in ISIS" or words to the equivalent made me feel a bit sick. Coupled with what I was hearing at Salmon and Ball, and our fans have properly regressed to neandthals. Absolute divs I was in the home end right along side the Reading fans. For the Reading goal someone threw a batte...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Leyton Orient (a)

biff What's the away boozer of choice for this one?

The closest pub the coach and horses doesn't let in away fans and checks tickets.

Re: Will Keane Confimred

With him and Marriott, we basically have a guarantee that if we create chances we'll score goals. So how we get the best out of Wing, Savage, Kyerewaa, Doyle etc., is the key thing to work on. There is never a guarantee of goals https://files.catbox.moe/9v2k4r.png Especially if you stick him out on...

Re: Ricardo Santos

I would say we'd all heard of O'Connor, Lane, Marriott though, right? And generally looked at them and went 'cool, they've got a good track record at this level' with the possible exception of Marriott who is a bit older and had some question marks over whether he could still do it. It's not like w...

Re: Ricardo Santos

Anyone else of the view that one of the great downsides of being in League 1 is every transfer rumour is someone you've never heard of and even the ones you end up signing you have to look up to see if they are any good, and when you look them up its a mixture of failed here, did ok there etc. Back ...

Re: You can’t say I didn’t warn you!

Players of Olise’s quality don’t come along every 3 years and we’d be selling for about 1.5m to a champ club now rather than 10m to a prem team with us being L1 In the Championship they came along about 1 in 10 years, let alone L1, so completely agree. Where's our next big money Academy sale? Garci...

Re: You can’t say I didn’t warn you!

The Olise money kept the club alive. If we hadnt been in dire straights it would have paid for the upkeep of the academy for many years. It's highly unlikely that future Olise's would choose RFC if it wasnt cat1. if a £10m player comes through every 3 years or so, the academy is cost neutral. on to...

Re: MATCHWATCH : West Ham United U21

From my own experience a lot of Reading fans who go to Saturday games live some way from the ground. Around where I sit there are 4 from Didcot and one from Honiton another lives near Brentford's ground so any evening games are far from easy. I grew up two roads away from Elm Park and, possibly bec...

Re: MATCHWATCH : West Ham United U21

I recognise folk will struggle to make any game played at 19:00 on any weekday evening, as people have to get back from work, etc. - made worse if you don't live in Reading specifically. That said, we managed to get 2,517 against Arsenal U21s and 1,560 against Charlton in 2023-24 (deducting away fa...

Only 1.247 (246 away) fans there tonight, making it our lowest Mad Stad crowd ever. Previous record was 1.561 against Leyton Orient in this competition back in December 1999. Given how much people claim to care about the continued existence of a club when it is about to disappear, and will sing Rea...

22 years old. Burns hasn't scored a goal in 63 appearance.

How is this loan signing better than Wareham or WiFi or Bodin?

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Confirmed Craig gone to the Orient £££££££ I wasn't aware Orient had £££££. Stockport and Wycombe yes, but do we need to add another historically smaller club to the list? It does confuse a bit; you'd think these mid sized towns/suburbs in London and Manchester with giant clubs on their doorstep wi...

Re: Squad for 2025-2026

Mbengue feels like a big loss - a key part of the squad both on and off pitch. We tried to keep and he decided to take a different challenge. Wareham never felt like he was quite good enough, bet he scores against us next season. I think in L1 Wareham was good enough, with room to improve due to hi...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

Agree that the shade of blue on the shirt looks different to the colour of the shorts/socks Also, read on Twitter earlier that ladies teams prefer dark shorts so they wouldn't have gone with white and guess you want both men's and women's kits the same I'm not convinced for one moment that the wome...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

I think it's great. A nod to our history. But white shorts would work better. The effect of the pattern is to lose to the vibrancy of the blue in the shirt - so the shorts look like they are a different shade. Agree that the shade of blue on the shirt looks different to the colour of the shorts/soc...
