Re: MATCHWATCH : Rotherham united (a)

Was the exceptional goal that Rotherham scored at the start of the second half offside? It looked good to me, but the angle wasn’t great. I thought exactly the same at the time, but can`t find a replay to confirm. Edit just seen it on ifollow highlights- he was in an offside position when the ball ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (h)

I don't know if the science has been done for football but in rugby it has. If you have two rugby players travelling at say, 14-second 100M pace when they collide they impart a force X which is the two speeds multiplied together That speed is 11.2 MPH so their COMBINED speed is 125 MPH If they are ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (h)

Well, there you go then-football is a different game altogether, sports science is everything and by your own admission YOU haven't got a clue about motivation and according to you nobody outside sport has either. Fine. No need to discuss this further as , with your lengthy experience of life you h...

He’s probably talking about Alex Fernandez, who scored a last-minute equaliser against Barcelona at the weekend.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (h)

It does seem a bit of an age thing over this "tired" business. Younger posters like Hendo and even Nameless and a few others appear to set great store by modern fixation with performance stats, energy levels, diet, recovery periods etc. having major impact on performance. Those a bit olde...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (h)

I never buy that tired thing. OK you're a bit knackered after the game and might have picked up a bit of stretch here or there but you're running around for 90 minutes doing something you enjoy and want to do again, not gouging coal from a coal face on a ten hour shift, working in the burning heat ...

Re: Rumour - Richards to Everton

Not sure what’s happened. Omar was absolutely outstanding pre injury but been oridinary since and really poor today. I would still see him as comfortably first choice though. Head turned by the interest. Lost the application to succeed. Loader is hardly making waves in the Porto B team. Who sit bot...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (h)

Argument already made mate They were good chances which should have at least resulted in shots on target. We fluffed our lines End of . You’re being unrealistic. A chance like Rino’s - about 20 yards out, slightly wide of goal - is unlikely to result in a shot on target and even less likely to resu...

Re: Referees

Firstly  WWFS I can’t stand Liverpool FC ;probably because I grew up with them winning the League nearly every year. However, how can that be a penalty for Everton’s second goal ? TAA is just lying on the ground, when Calvert Lewin just goes over him. You’re describing a foul. There is no need f...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wycombe Wanderers (a)

I’d like to see two up front for this one and bring in Puscas and drop Semedo. Also Holmes in for Yids. Echo my thoughts slightly although would go with the following: Rafael Yiadom Moore Morrison McIntyre Richards Laurent Rinomhota Olise Baldock Joao Southwood Esteves Holmes Gibson Tetek Ejaria Se...

Re: 90s Man U vs 20's Royals.

The thing to keep in mind is that all the players are different ages. Off the top of my head, Rino is a year older than Richards (and Southwood), who is a year older than McIntyre, who is a year older than Holmes, who is two years older than Olise. If the theory is that we should be producing one p...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (h)

Full credit to Boro, they won the midfield battle, took their chances, and were excellent at the back. Also didn’t resemble a typical Warnock side.

We need more from our forwards, particularly the key men of Joao, Ejaria, and Olise. Echoing the comments about Esteves and Aluko.

Re: CONFIMRED: Lucas Joao

Fantastic signing. If he stays fit can see him being one of the best strikers we've had in years. Will be one of the top players in the Championship by next season. 8) That post must be hidden m8! Can't see it myself. Take nothing away from Pepe though, he was bang on the money, that prediction cou...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bristol City (a)

For me:

1) Semedo in midfield, Aluko behind striker
2) Holmes in midfield
3) as 1 but with Olise and Aluko switched
4) Tetek
5) McIntyre in midfield

Re: MATCHWATCH : Millwall (h)

Puskas is rubbish and hold up;he is at his best exploiting space behind the CB s.Then he is very good. Disagree. He’s too slow to threaten many players in behind (although obviously there have been exceptions). Hold up play is a major part of his game, and he’s reasonably good at it, particularly i...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bristol City (a)

Aluko - 0.5 tackles and 0.5 interceptions per 90. Semedo - 1.5 tackles and 0.8 interceptions per 90 That said, I do agree with CR here. I think Aluko has looked the better player this season, at least for an attacking midfielder. IMO Aluko should be fifth choice and Semedo sixth rather than the othe...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Millwall (h)

Scored 14 in a season when the team was very average. Imagine he’d score more in a functional set up like this season Yeah if anything Puscas’s stock seems to have fallen while he’s been out of the side. He’s a great second choice. If we’d had him up front ahead of Baldock when Joao was out we’d ha...
