Re: BFTG Boro

Ok sorry on that, it must have been Ian Royal or Spacey?. Well seeing as I'm IR and Spacey hasn't been a regular for about 10 years, you're talking nonsense. As I'm sure which ever regular you are behind the new username knows. Ok dug out one of your many love in posts on Rakels = Re: Deniss Rakels...

Re: The Great, Big Royal International Thread

There's no shortage of credible Welsh right backs - Adam Matthews, Jazz Richards, Adam Henley, Neal Eardley, Connor Roberts, and depending on if he's needed elsewhere, Neil Taylor. Matthews is currently without a club and Richards is injured so it's a little bleak for them right now, but they're a ...

Re: Nova leaves on permanent deal

Novakovich was done here the moment he went on loan last summer - my only surprise is that a top flight Dutch club weren't prepared to fork out the cash for him - as if a 2nd division Italian side can afford him it us unlikely to have been more than a million or so. I have literally no idea how goo...

Re: Anton took money!!

Anton did very little positive for the club though, Tbf he did finance our second promotion to the PL... in a manner of speaking. In hindsight that wasn't really positive. Stay down, lose Kebe, but Antonio doesn't leave and comes through. No Roberts, Pog, Drenthe Guthrie stealing a living. And of c...

Re: Nova leaves on permanent deal

If he was as good as we all reckon he is why is it that he’s going to a languishing Serie B club? I don’t disagree that he’s not been given a proper chance but I have an inkling this one might not bite us in the butt. People think he's probably good enough for our level. He's joining a team at our ...

Re: BFTG - Charlton

Not sure what more I have to add. Really good first half just spoiled by our lack of goals, really poor second half. Think the front two should be Puscas-Meite with Joao on the bench. Might bring Miazga in for Moore. Other than that I wouldn't make any changes, though I really miss having wingers. ...

Re: Michael Morrison

If he really was forced upon Gomes (Nameless confirming what I've said reassures me that Gomes did genuinely say that) then it goes to show that forcing players on managers isn't always a bad thing. He's been excellent for us. Birmingham fans said he was reliable but no good on the ball, but I think...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Charlton Athletic (h) sponsored by Dave Shipperley

This will get shot down in flames but with this system I would be considering Gunts on the bench. Would fit in a 3 at the back and more than competent in filling the wing back positions. I'd consider him, but we have strength in depth at the back. I'm sure Gunter would do a good job because he was ...

From the photos I saw there were plenty of spare seats elsewhere - why didn't you move? Because he shouldn't have to and his 7 year old daughter was scared. She'd have wanted to get away from the rude big man, and all that she now associates football with, a game her dad has built her up to going t...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Well that either shows one of two things: 1. The club rated Smith as the better prospect and that he would be a better fit to the first team at the time Novakovich went on loan for the 2nd season 2. Novakovich himself didn't want to fight for a spot (I would hope not) . It shows neither of those th...

Wouldn't rush Miazga back but think it would be good for Morrison and McIntyre to play together. Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Andrija Novakovich is in talks with PEC Zwolle. He was in the crowd for their 2-2 draw with Sparta today As much as I feel sorry for him and hoped he would get the opportunity he's been patiently waiting for, I'm glad he's going to be playing a decent level somewhere else. The poor lad has not been...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

I can think of one example that really supports Ian's theory - Southampton. But after they got relegated they signed the likes of Rickie Lambert, Jason Puncheon and Jose Fonte to go with Surman, Lallana, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Schneiderlin. In other words, they're about as representative of the &quo...

Agree with the consensus here, they're a team we want to play before they work things out. Still have lots of quality but the midfield has been disrupted. We're in good form and have every chance.

Am going to optimistically predict 2-0 Reading with goals from Puscas and Richards.

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Everytime I've been to the hawthorns they've been a class act. Plenty of friendly banter in the vine pre and post match and definitely without any sense of entitlement. Best club in the Midlands all day. Understatement imo, they're possibly the most likeable club (or at least fan base - the ridicul...
