Re: Back from I Follow Luton

If four goals only gets you 9/10 then something is wrong. Meite 10/10 for me. McIntyre was very good in his own half and got a little unlucky a couple of times when he went up for corners. Aside from kicking the ball against a Luton player at the start of the second half, he looked every bit the fir...

Osho has been training at right back recently.

I couldn’t care less who the captain is. I’m sure Swift will do a good job.

Snowball
karbota
Lower West Ejaria slows the game down. Short passess, no shots, few crosses. Beginning to wonder what contribution he actually makes to the team.

Same here, Harper like.

HOW DID WE GET ON WITH HARPER IN MIDFIELD?

We got relegated

A goal or assist every 2.7 matches. Just about good enough but not pulling up any trees. Probably at his level.

Re: BFIFollow Brentford

Ever since Ejaria arrived on loan there have been no big doubts about his talent but there are doubts about wtf he actually is. Is he a winger? A box to box midfielder? An attacking midfielder? Nobody can work it out. Suspect one day something will click either for him or for a manager and then he’l...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

Tbh I’m more interested in away kits because they’re so unpredictable. Some faves: - African Violet (by far our best) - Red with gold trim - Black and grey hoops - White with green trim (09/10) - Black with red trim (10/11, 13/14 or ideally 14/15) Not faves: - orange - yellow - White - plain black o...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (a) sponsored by Sean Evers

Olise should be coming off the bench to make a difference late on. I think he’d find more space against tired legs. I’d like to see (for interest mostly) Masika and McCleary on the wings, Meite or Puscas through the middle, and a midfield of Ejaria, Swift, and Rinomhota or Pele. It might not work bu...

Re: Swift to... Southampton

I remembered earlier that John Fleck has been a success at United so upon reflection I think Swift would be fine there.

Think Norwood is under less pressure to run as he’s their answer to Pirlo or Carrick. But I’ve never thought of Swift as particularly slow - he just isn’t very “busy”.

Re: Swift Offer

 UR&G in these current times, you can't blame a club for going in with a low offer - Remember when we sold Le Fondre for £1.6m because we had a tax bill to pay. If we have to sell to balance the books and nobody else is offering anything for anyone then we might have to take it seriously,...

Was it £5.5m for Matt Mills as well?

Re: Swift to... Southampton

Yeah £5m would be disappointing after the sorts of fees Hammond used to get but in the current climate might be the best we can get.

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Two others I want to pick out - Liam Driscoll was a very solid goalkeeper, good distribution, good handling. We have a very high standard for goalkeepers and he isn’t the first to fail it. Hopefully he’s a Ben Hamer rather than a Dan Lincoln . Ethan Coleman could have been a really good player, was...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Odimayo is a good player but only a year younger than McIntyre and the same age as Holmes - just too many people between him and the first team. Burley had it even harder but tbh I never rated him - probably the worst Academy graduate to play for the first team since Peter Castle/Darren Campbell. Me...

Re: Swift to... Southampton

I don’t think either of the touted moves would be good for him and the fees being talked about are derisory. Swift is three times the player that Sawyers is - literally. In 126 matches for Brentford Sawyers scored six goals. In 127 games for us Swift has scored 18 goals. In 27 games for Brentford Sw...

Re: Wigan in Administration

If it is seen as unfair that a team avoids any such punishment in that case then the rule would have to be changed to automatically demote any team that enters administration. Or use other options...Currently if Wigan finish 13 points clear then they face no meaningful punishment. If they finish in...

Re: Squad for 2020/21

Two things stand out for me that haven’t already been said: 1) I think Bowen at least views Araruna as a busted flush. Seems to be a consensus he isn’t what we need in a midfielder, and at right back he seems to have fallen behind Osho. Think he’ll be off to China or Belgium if not back to Brazil. 2...

Re: The next 5 games - a key point in our season

The important thing is finishing above the team who came 22nd. So Dellor botched the stats, but there was a year where it took 55 points to avoid relegation.

Re: Squad for 2020/21

Barrow is very clearly our best option on the left. He contributed to ten goals last season which is more than any of our left midfield options have managed this season (Ejaria leading on seven). Can only imagine he must be on much more than we can afford, although Gomes seemingly deciding not to us...
