Re: Squad for 2020/21

As I said in another thread, I'd happily trade Moore for Pele. I think we need CB cover but we definitely need a decent DM to give us shape in midfield. It's the one position I'd go all out to recruit a starter in. I'd be happy with a DM, 3 or 4 loans for depth, particularly in defence and then usi...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

With RFC being 150 years old next year, surely the club should be erring towards an anniversary shirt. Preferably shirt sponsor free too. Will be the season after, Macron confirmed in their press release, when the partnership was announced, they were aware of the anniversary and will be producing a...

Re: Would this ex-players team get promoted?

Would be better if this post was ex-academy players as these are ones we've let go. Quite honestly I don't think you can call loanees, who we had no chance of signing in most cases, as ex-players

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (a) sponsored by Sean Evers

I vaguely recall a 0-7 away win at Southport or somewhere millenia ago Possibly you're thinking of the 8-0 win over them at EP in March 1970. We've one away League win by 5 goals, a 6-1 win at Swansea 23/09/1989. A couple of 6's. Last one was 6-0 at Plymouth 12/03/1949. Did we score 5 at Tranmere t...

Re: Reading FC 2018/19 accounts

I read somewhere this week the owners have done a new share issue of 60m shares; no idea what the par value of the shares is though, assume it's to generate capital, is it allowed under FFP?

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Fox Talbot Disappointed to see Ben House go, given how few goalscorers the Academy produces.

Poor lad got on the Academy Board merely for a five minute micro-cameo in a cup tie before being sacrificed when we had a red carded defender.

Agree - would have kept him for at another season

Re: Wigan in Administration

It sadly won't help Wigan avoid a points deduction; the EFL's role is only a ratification - they have signed off loads of dodgy owners like Bury/Bolton last season, if there was any recourse clubs would have gone there in the past

Re: Rival Watch

I think 51 will be enough. With Wigan getting 12 points deduction then with 6 games left you would imagine none of bottom three will get more than 10 points. And likely that if they did others would struggle. I think it will be 3 of Luton, Wigan, hull and stoke. If reading only pick up one or zero ...

Re: The next 5 games - a key point in our season

With the last relegation spot sitting on 43 points with 6 to play I would say teams need more than 50 to stay up this season. Its actually 41 with Wigan, so with goal diff we are 9 clear with 6 to play We'd probably need to lose 5 out of 6 to go down, we last had a run like that under Terry the tax...

Re: Swift to... Southampton

Market has changed. £8m+ not realistic in a Covid world. £5m+ add ons would be a good bid. Current £3.5m not good enough yet. Fair price I reckon - plays well one game in 5 and has hamstring issues That's simply not an accurate description of Swift this season. He's been consistently good and even ...

Re: Wigan in Administration

PieEater That put's them bottom on 38pts, 5 points from safety. Probably worth a shot based on their current form WDWWW

I reckon form goes out of the window when this happens, being effectively bottom will increase the pressure 10 fold as they looked safe. Still to play Brentford and Fulham too
