Re: Coronavirus outbreak

The spread of MERS was ONLY in hospitals and required PROLONGED contact with an infected person, so drop that off your argument. We didn’t see anything REMOTELY like this governmental reaction when SARS reared its head. I don’t claim to be a virologist or an academic researcher but I CAN read and I...

Millsy At the moment each of our defenders seems to have two left feet.

And two left heads.

Hang on, that doesn't work does it... :?:

Re: Back from whatever that was.

I'm not a big fan of left footed centre backs to be honest. Weird. So you’re objecting to the likes of Laurent Blanc, Giorgio Chiellini, David Alaba, Paolo Maldini, Frank de Boer, Daniel Passarella, Aymeric Laporte, Marcel Desailly, Ruud Krol, Gabriel Magalhaes, Marco Materazzi, Samuel Umtiti, Clem...

Re: Any updates?

No one thinks other than Covid is a horrid illness for a small minority and I am truly sorry that you are one of those who has suffered but you also need to think of all those who have lost jobs through no fault of their own and will go on to lose their homes and futures. 4.1% are dying. Up to 15% ...

Re: Let’s talk about passing it around the back.

We've a manager that doesn't know this league. Like Stam, like Gomes wants the team to play and impose their style of football. Unfortunately they ultimately get found out by more experienced managers. O'Neill being the latest. We haven't been "found out" We have missed a string of good c...

Re: Back from whatever that was.

McIntyre is a good player, but you can't expose him to pace. Next to Morrison and with Richards forward and Laurent/Rino not covering he'll be in trouble with a high line. Play to his weaknesses it's an issue, play to his strengths it's not. Gibson looked like he was in tears at the end . Good play...

Re: Let’s talk about passing it around the back.

Agree snowball on Rino and Laurent - had exactly the same thought The work rate in closing down seems to have dropped a bit and there’s less intensity in the middle They’ve both continued to play ok (Laurent was motm for me yesterday) but they aren’t working as a pair like they did But I think that...

Re: Any updates?

And the truth is that all the lockdowns will achieve at best is to give mainly very old people a few more years as the average age of death from Covid so far in the UK has been between somewhere between 82.4 and 85.5. SOURCE? I find the above figures laughable. But whether they are or not you need ...

Re: Let’s talk about passing it around the back.

I’d argue those are likely contradictory. Can’t be patient in possession if you’ve played direct from the back. How many goals have we actually conceded from playing out from the back? 1 I think - stokes second. Yet I’d suggest at least 2 of our goals scored have come from the oppo playing too high...

Re: Let’s talk about passing it around the back.

I think it’s an area we’ve missed Moore Someone else posted about how many shots Moore has charged down I've made the point that we weren't outplayed in any of these games just made horrible mistakes. But a fair few of those mistakes could have led to a blocked shot (rather than a goal) had Moore b...

By horrible individual, uncharacteristic errors. Not by being outplayed.

But look also how, suddenly our lethal strikers weren't.

Re: Would you take 4th place now?

NO. Just pretend you don't know the result sequence and look at the table. Consider, too how Bristol City started with 4 straight wins, then "fell apart" only to return to back-to-back wins and are in fifth. We go into the international break unequivocally top. Most of us would have given ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stoke City (h) sponsored by Dylan Kerr

Seeing talk of our really tough run, just checked and it’s Bournemouth away (fair enough) then Millwall (dire home record and loads of injuries) and bloody Bristol city? Don't think we have anything to worry about with Bournmouth. They specialise in draws, and if we can get a few players back from ...
