Re: Next Season's Squad.

A fit Oliveira is a must.

We've been crying out for a 'proper' centre forward since Murray or Sa.

Re: Gomes after 10 League Games

Isn't the issue what the manager actually does - given the (until recently) structure, the DoF would have been responsible for player recruitment. Clement and Gomes are therefore tasked with getting the best with what they have, via coaching, team tactics and player motivation. Seems to me that the ...

Re: Confirmed Lewis Baker on Loan

I remember being in this type of position before, crying out for a striker and getting Mikele Leigertwood....the rest is history Maybe there's something we're not seeing I'm looking forward to the Jason Roberts signing though I mean, bit different. We had a 20goal/season striker for a start. And Le...

Re: The midfield

Surprised the midfield is getting as much praise. I posted this in the 'Are we really going down' thread: 'We're more than half way thru the season, and was looking back at some stats. A few things jumped out: - We've played 26 games, and in 18 of them, we've scored either 0 or 1 goal. - In the 26 ...

Re: Jose’s task starts here

As a fan, I find it hard to be objective, I want to give our players the benefit of the doubt that they will come good (notable exception being CG). Seems to me that we can't hold the ball up when we find ourselves in forward areas and it leads to few shots/opportunities. We then concede soft goals ...

Re: New Manager

If the €10k a month figure for the current salary is in the right ballpark and we are quadrupling it, then £500k a year seems reasonable.

There will be heavy incentives and other elements to the big figure cited (possibly transfer and staff costs)

Am just speculating

Re: New Manager

Seems to be some debate about the salary/incentives for the new manager.

Anyone know what the previous packages have been?

Would previous Reading FC managers (post SJM) be on £1M + a year?

Re: Gourlay

I understand that the relationships with long standing local businesses who've been taking corporate packages aren't being properly managed at the moment. That may be down to the implosion of the commercial dept... But a lot of easy wins are being neglected.. There are different ways to re-structure...

Re: BFTG , Hull.

Good stuff from my POV. Played with an intensity that’s been missing thus far. Very happy to see Sims start at last and the shah looks like he has something about him. Throw in the experienced head of O’Shea not really putting a foot wrong* and it’s all good. Not sure why people are using Hull bein...

Hhhmmmmm... the Dara Thomas bit is a shame. I believe she's been around for a while doing a lot with limited resources.

I hope he's not a toxic boss, but the signs aren't good...
