Re: Coronavirus outbreak

I have to say that I continue to think that the fear over this COVID-19 issue is overdone. I have just checked the Gov flu report which details flu deaths for the four years from 2014/15 through to 2017/18. An average of 21,155 died in the UK during these four years from flu including sadly a numbe...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

NEW CASES Last 5 days 63,408 63,489 68,154 57,773 61,563 More (some) evidence of flattening, but 2-3 weeks of 50,000+ before an actual decline would be about a million cases, and ATM the deaths/got better ratio has risen to 18.4%, meaning there are a total of 142,813 deaths in the pipe based on cum...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

They`re talking blackouts now, nice to see we will have them when other worse hit counties have managed ok. Whats the reasoning? Is there much of a net difference in energy demand? Shops and retail obviously closed but people are home all day watching TV, heating the house and cooking chicken goujo...

Snowball Weakness?

My first walk since being ill. Exactly five miles.
I usually do that in 1:23-1:26

Today 1Hr 45! about 4 minutes a mile slower. That's terrible!

Quit hogging all the exercise hours.

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

The paper predicts 2.7% of the population has actually been infected (mid of the range) That is 1,830,420, almost two million people Current deaths are 1,408 plus about 2,800 due in the next 14 days (4,208) from those already infected At that rate should the whole of the population become infected ...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Feel fortunate to live in a house with a garden, an empty woods and field at the end of the road and a gym in garage. Isn't actually too bad so far and I've been in lockdown/WFH for over a month now.

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Possible Good News? The last three days, Worldwide New Cases have flattened 26-March - - - 63,408 27-March - - - 63,489 28-March - - - 68.054 The rise is large at between 60,000 and 70,000 per day, but the exponential growth has not been there for these three days at least. We may see another surge...

Uke
Jagermesiter1871 Maybe there will also be some treatment by then which makes it less deadly.

Now the world knows how the gay community felt in the 80s.

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

And then you look across the floor and see Diane Abbott. Surprises me that Abbott is the one picked out as “stupid” given that she’s by far the most intelligent figure on the British left. Quick comparison: Jeremy Corbyn was given every advantage in life and dropped out of his degree in Trade Union...

its not scary at all. long way to go to catch up with 1.8 million kids under 5 dying. 37,000 infected in Germany, 200 deaths. Stop scaremongering. Not a big increase at all. See my edit above. Where does your figure of 1.8 million kids under 5 dying come from? UNICEF Yeh and where do you think the ...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

when this is over and the death toll remains well under 500,000 I hope you donate to some worthy causes. but by then the risk to YOU will be over, so hey ho, back to normal and ignore all the other horrific death rates that could at the very least be reduced If the death toll remains under 500,000 ...
