Re: Speculation: Ethan Amapadu

Derby can't have ALL the Chelsea loan players so we might be in with a shout.
A good player in the Nathan Ake mould who would be an improvement on what we have got.
Zip, we need to up our complement of Welsh players with Edwards and Gunter no longer around.

So "this week" has come and gone-let's hope that this week produces a better outcome in terms of signings that Gomes clearly wants.

Re: CONFIMRED - Bod to Millwall.

Real shame this. A previous posters have said. Criminally underused by Stam and his injury co-incided with a bad run. Never really had a chance since (partly due to injuries) Great for both for both parties as Millwall absolutely play to his strengths. Wish him well Actually was thinking the opposi...

Re: Jobi - Greatest goal never scored?

Walsall away when a young Howard Webb didn't give a goal? (Keith Jones??)
Maybe the goal that never was given by a young Stuart Attwell at Watford made up for it.

Re: Jack Stacey

It's the old "undisclosed" fee again so who knows how much we get if at all. Bournemouth have spent a fortune on young players over the past 3 seasons and they have been mainly British. It looks as though they will get £25 million from Villa for Ings who they bought for around £7 million(a...

Dutch keeper having a blinder.
A fabulous turn and left-foot shot by Morgan-USA do, from afar, look like a men's team with their skill and movement.

Re: The womens world cup

Ok, after all this silly waffle, time for the truth. Despite the ultimate disappointment for England the tournament has been a huge success, illustrating the massive progress the game has made in the last few years. Skill, technique, goalkeeping, fitness, in fact, EVERYTHING has improved massively,...

Re: Gary Hooper

Only 6 appearances last season and one goal. Only just over 20 games per season for the previous 3 seasons. Les Ferdinand may have been 39 but he had been once very good whereas IMHO Hopper has never been very good and as an all-round striker (as opposed to scoring goals and not doing much else)he i...

Those oldies haven't all been a success, including Billy Sharp whose natural home is Sheff Utd.
As a further cautionary note remember Les Ferdinand.

Re: Joao Virginia

It looks as though he has spent a lot of time on the bench at Arsenal and Everton for their under age teams. I reckon he will be our no.2-it would be quite a gamble to make him no.1 when he has had such little experience. It doesn't say much for the many keepers that we have at the club who always s...

Always struck me as a poor man's Billy Sharp-similar build but not as good.
Not excited about this rumour but we are now shopping at Poundland so we may just have to be grateful for what we get.

Re: The womens world cup

Haven't watched much of this so far but caught the second half last night. It looked to me like a non-league game where players are trying their best to copy what the professionals do. The passing looked ok and considered as was England's 3rd goal from the corner. The Cameroon keeper was dreadful in...

At the start of most seasons there are changes to the game. The back pass rule The seconds that a keeper can keep the ball A tightening up on penalising shirt pulling in the area. After a few weeks of Mike Dean applying the letter of the law things tend to die down so it will be interesting to see h...

Re: Rumour - Danny Loader

Some club may pay the £10 million that has been mooted-I remain of the opinion that anything above £1 million with plenty of add-ons represents a good deal for the club when we are in the parlous financial position that we are- So, the club that spunked £7m on Aluko should waste at least as much ag...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Where I said 'from a footballing perspective', and referenced Ajax's style of play and club culture by reference to the polar opposite at PSG. Obviously. Is Ajax's style of play much different from PSG's? PSG play an attractive passing game -IMHO the culture of a club is irrelevant to young footbal...

No, because I was talking about football, rather than money. The guy is 19 and has huge potential. If he's already picking clubs based on wine and cheese then he's being horribly advised. one day might get their transfer dealings right God. Sold! So where do you suggest "for footballing reason...
