Re: Confimred loan - Ovie Ejaria

On the whole scouting thing Brentford seem to do a lot of recruitment from France. Thats not revolutionary. Alan Carrs dad did it for Newcastle for years. Its a well known bargain bin. The other thing on Brentford is the owners pay 0 attention to the table. They see that as a false way to evaluate ...

Re: Any player you recall who virtually beat us on their own.

I will throw the name of a keeper in who kept the 106 team at bay one October evening in Hull in 2005; Boaz Myhill. We were utterly dominant that night, but fell behind against the run of play and looked liked we would lose as Myhill continued to save Hull again and again; then Blakey scored with ab...

Re: Finance

If a load of clubs do go under, and taking into account the likely impact on TV (and other) revenue streams (after all, if we have 3 Million unemployed, football season tickets may not be a high priority to many), then I would suggest that this would be the perfect time to do a reorganisation of pro...

EFL Football to return behind closed doors

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

The clubs with a massive player wages to income ratio's are going to be in financial dire straits because of the shut down; sadly, that puts us right in the firing line, as our wages to income ratio is (according to the Financial analyst, Swiss Ramble) 197%...................

Re: Elm Park Years

Reading v Arsenal FA Cup 1972 was the heyday of skinheads/suedeheads and football violence. As a 14 year old living in Reading - our hooligan following mainly consisted of schoolboy wannabes, like me. Anyone harder (older) in those days supported the big London clubs or Man U/Liverpool. Elm Park th...

Re: FA Cup away day memories

Losing 2-1 away at a then non-League Colchester United; their ground miles from the station, and it rained.

Not the happiest of FA Cup memories....

I went to the York game mentioned earlier; the only decent thing were the pies - top quality and great vfm!

Jamie Cureton sets record

Not sure if this has a thread already (if so, mods please delete this one!) but Jamie Cureton was featured in an interesting article in the Daily Telegraph last week, as he has set a record for scoring in the top 9 divisions of the English football league pyramid system! https://www.telegraph.co.uk/...

Re: Next Manager

What, in a nutshell, would be wrong with Parky?

Apart from anything else, he is available (so no compensation to another club) and would have the fans being supportive of him as the club tries to sort itself out.

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Phil Neville was moaning about it but should have put his money where his mouth is and help out why? He should have. If it had such strong family connections why not help out? Why dont the efl or sky or fa have money set aside for this RIP FOOTBALL Phil Neville was not allowed to help Bury out; he ...

Re: BFTG Huddersfield Away

Reading are now 7/1 on coral for promotion... 66/1 with Paddy Power today. They were 100/1 prior to the Cardiff game. Was well worth a cheeky £5 e/w (Paddy Power pay out only on the 1-2-3 for each way). Are you sure the PP odds are not to win the league? B365 have us 16/1 for promotion and 40/1 to ...

Re: BFTG - Cardiff

Watched the match again on tv. Still can't get over how good Swift was. He looked a different player to me. As well as the clever touches and great through balls there were tackles! At least 4, I reckon. And dont recall any daft passes to the opposition. And he looked fitter, quicker and stronger t...

Re: CONFIMRED - Rafael Cabral

Regardless as to whether the new signing is a better/more/experienced keeper than the 19 yr old here on loan, the fact that Rafael has been brought will be an immense kick in the teeth to Virginia's confidence; he must think that the manager doesn't rate him. As confidence is a key aspect for a keep...

Re: Rival Watch

Pardew used to hate Nobbers watching the training when it was at Sonning; he felt people watching then going on here to say "The team are going to play 442, with Viveash at the back" was giving the opposition an advantage.

Is the the complete list though? I am sure that both Wenger & Ferguson opposed us in 6 League games each during our 2 spells in the Prem...........also Lawrie Sanchez managed against us 7 times whilst he was Wycombe manager, getting a draw and a (hideous for us) 5-3 win against us as well as the...

Re: Which playoff final was worse?

Bolton was the worst, by a Country mile. After the way the FSB dicked us during the season, that team genuinely deserved promotion and the chance to play in the Premier League. I still hate that scouse git Jason McAteer, who should have gone for giving away the penalty....... Didn't go yesterday as ...

Re: A pundit just backed us!

Football Focus just now... Ex-Fulham player Danny Murphy fancies Huddersfield because that they've come out of nowhere with a great new manager who changed a lot at the club. Therefore, it's "meant to be" for them. How the fcuk is that any different to our season  Reading not even me...
