Re: Ex Players

Sutekh Last I heard he was coaching at Solihull Moors but left them last December after 6 years. For the record he'll be only 50 in December this year.

Wrong person, wrong age.

Re: Reading FC Womens World

The League website is now set up for this season, including the new club name:
https://fulltime.thefa.com/index.html?league=479698
No fixtures showing yet apart from the County Cup. I read somewhere else that the FA Cup draw is this week.

On the "Matches" pages of the club website, the women's team have been removed. Not just for the coming season, but previous results as well.

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

I reckon that these two recent charge clearances may relate to actions taken a long time ago. In other words, this is just administrative clearing up. If so, then it's more to add to the long list of admin failures by RFC staff in recent years. But it might also be possibly good news in terms of sal...

Re: Berks and Bucks Senior cup 2023/24

The Berks and Bucks Senior Cup is for first teams, so obviously there is no rule excluding people who have played any number of professional games.

Reading enter a youth team but that is merely a club choice.

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

And another thing, which will no doubt crop up sooner or later. The top 16 U21 sides qualify for the EFL Trophy. However, there is a rule that says U21 sides of clubs in Leagues 1 or 2 are excluded.

So we don't get to enter twice, and presumably 17th-placed Southampton get a place instead.

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

The system for the knock-out includes the sentence "These will be one-off elimination matches with the higher-seeded team at home." So we only get a quarter-final home game if Nottingham Forest beat Fulham on Monday evening. Unfortunately, this aspect of the draw got missed by a lot of peo...

Re: The Non - League thread

London Colney ?-? Bagshot – no info on official or otherwise league sites: nor news from either club’s soc. media yet – both confirmed in the drop zone already, so it is possible they both decided to give it a miss and ‘go fishing’?? "Game Off - Bagshot FC can't raise a side and the 3 points g...

Re: The Non - League thread

Went to the Basingstoke Town game today, Paul Hodges for Basingstoke scores from 90 yards! Yep, that’s right, 90 yards. Off one post, hit the other and spun in. Sight to behold and he meant it. Hope there will be a video doing the rounds soon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aM1Vv6KOC1o

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

The important point here is the loss of Category 1 status last year. The U18 squad is a mixture of U18s and U17s. So this years U18s are the ones who signed a two-year deal when we were Category 2. Our best U16s at that time would have looked elsewhere first (obvious example is Princewill Ehibationh...

Re: Squad Watch 2024/25

Who the hell signed Bouzanis on a 3 year deal? That would be Ince and Bowen. At least it hasn't cost us much. This. I think he was always signed to be a backup keeper; he'll be on backup keeper wages. He was also signed at a time when we were most restricted as to who we could bring in, so he proba...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

There are 26 teams in Premier League 2. Assuming that flashscore is right, Reading have the best home record with 23 points from 9 games. We also have the worst away record, 4 points from 7 games (could get off bottom spot by winning an away game in hand, but that doesn't seem likely). The even odde...

On the podcast Howe seems to think that the Parliamentary boundary changes will affect how councils look at planning applications. Is he is as clueless as that on every other property topic?

Hull v Wolves second attempt is on Sunday 17 December.

For context, Wolves are near the top of the third tier and Hull at the top of the fourth tier (both regionalised).

Re: MATCHWATCH : Exeter City (a)

I couldn't see any mention of the records broken by last night's win; if there is a thread somewhere, please re-direct this post. 1. This was Reading biggest ever away victory. 2. This is the biggest ever victory in the EFL Cup since its inception in 1984 3. It is Reading's biggest win in 122 years...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Stevenage (h)

There's been one in the league cup (I'm sure many will remember that pathetic showing from last season) and four in the FA Cup. Stevenage, though, have a much better record in Reading in those games than Reading having won twice to Reading's sole victory in an FA Cup 3rd round replay. It's the othe...
