Re: Next Manager

I'm going to go full conspiracy theory on this one: When it looked like we might do well this season, Bowen, as football director, advised Gomes to make changes to the team and formation, leading to his tenure being unsustainable. I don't know whether Hughes was aware of Bowen's (alleged) interfere...

Re: GOMES OUT!

I'm personally not sure any team is down in October 5 points off relegation. I know their squad was poor, and even though I was Gomes out myself, I don't think our fans would have reacted in the same way Was it that early? Did have a ring of inevitability though. I called it the second they sacked ...

Re: Congratulations, you are the new Reading manager

As Reading still haven't announced a new manager here is your opportunity to pitch for the job. What formation would you play (a different one for home and away matches perhaps)? Which players would you drop and why? Are there any of the exiled players you would reinstate or anyone you want to prom...

Re: Next Manager

Remember how we signed Joao a couple of days after we played against his then-team Sheffield Wednesday? So last Saturday we played Bristol City, and you know Lee Johnson? Well... His dad, Gary, is the manager of Torquay United and his win percentage is currently over 50% Just saying. (In truth it's...

Old Man Andrews
genome Ainsworth isn't going to shag you mate

You have no evidence to suggest he won't. Until he closes the door on that then I will not give up hope.

He'd probably want to start a shared calendar with you...

Re: Fake hoops

windermereROYAL Main game on sky sports, OUT, potentially Hughes going back to one of his old teams.

Which surely, by football logic, would mean an automatic win for us!

Anyway I am out for this one as I am in America.

Re: The Local Journo Thread

@ChronCourtney Last year, I was subjected to vile abuse from an online troll about my work. I received threats, insults to myself and my family and verged on quitting my job. Today, I have discovered the person behind that account. I might just have to venture back into journalism for a day. Readin...

Is it just me getting annoyed with this? Every time I check my phone or browser for sport news over here I'll see a headline such as " Wales win as England take on Portugal" or " Arsenal hammer Everton" " Reading Striker linked with Chelsea",etc and you click on it thi...

Wycombe ended the 2018–19 season in 17th-place, three points clear of the relegation zone

Might as well keep gomes on that record

Can you confirm what he has done this season? I’d be interested to know if it was exactly the same as last season.

Pepe the Horseman
Zammo Sunderland are now managerless.

6th in the table, not exactly doing badly, but their fans seem pretty happy he's gone.

Saw on Twitter that only Liverpool and Man City have lost less games (in the top 4 divisions) since he took over. I guess there has been too many draws.

Clement had literally no luck. His sacking was certainly harsh and difficult to understand.

I'm sorry, but, what?! Yes, we might've been starting to improve slightly under Clement, but difficult to understand? no.

Re: Weekend Football

Sanguine It's getting rather mixed usage so far in the Football League - Patrick Bamford was spat at walking past Millwall fans at the weekend, and for another game, I forget which, police asked that the new rule not be observed for safety reasons.

But yeah, in general, a thumbs up.

Theres a shock.

Re: GOMES OUT!

Old Man Andrews Our last 6 games have been horrendous. Why is it a manager cannot be judged on that? Zip is so blinkered on the Gomes issue, its worrying.

If a manager wins 6 games in a row, do you automatically give him a contract extension and a pay rise?
