Re: Noel Hunt Confrimed

He did an unbelievable jobs last season None of us expected us to finish as high as we did. We sold our two best players. We go into this season without our top scorer last season’s center backs no forwards. And the total ambition of the new owners is a free transfer from Crawley town. If he keeps u...

Re: Pre Season games 2025/6

Jackson, this is most unlike you. What happened to your normal sunny optimistic outlook? He has a point...the squad is substantially weaker than the last 2 L1 seasons which is the only recent comparison we can make. He spent the last 5 years at least under a black cloud of complaining about pretty ...

Re: Pre Season games 2025/6

This is the worst looking Reading pre season squad l can remember. We may have our club back but it’s going to be a very long painful season. Relegation is a strong possibility based on that shambles.

Can’t blame him to moving to a bigger club. If we had decent owners he would have been tied up on a long term deal at the start of the season.

Re: G’arn then, somebodies got to….In Praise of Dai Yoonge

We were the only club in the championship to do the twenty is plenty. At a time when Leeds were charging £39. And he did pay for coaches for some of the long away trips.

Re: On this day......

If we'd lost 1-0 at home to Fulham instead of 2-0, we'd have stayed up. Then again, there's dozens of small instances which in isolation all seemed so insignificant, that would have made the difference between staying up and going down. This. Or lost 2-1 at Fulham instead of 3-1. The annoying thing...

Can’t believe today 14th was 30 years ago we won 3-1 at Tranmere, in the first leg of the championship playoffs. Brilliant support that day packed the away end. Happy days.

East Grinstead Royal Yesterday was also the 24th anniversary of the play-off first leg away to Wigan. I know this because I had a prior engagement that day!

That was the orange day! Martin Allens idea to match our away kit at the time.

Mid table at best. A complete re build. With so many players leaving, out of contract.

Re: Record Watch 2024/

Out of Birminghams 34 wins 21 were by one goal. Against the mighty Cambridge, Shrewsbury, Crawley and Lincoln ect.
Our 106 season eight were by one goal. In a league that contained Wolves, Leeds, Leicester and Southampton.

I saw 3 Asian lads before the game in ding shirts. That’s 3 more than Millwall.

Last day Heartbreaking moments

82-83 Reading beat Wrexham in a must win game to avoid the drop. After a delay we find out Exeter have won to send us and Wrexham down. 2004-5 Reading travel to promotion chasing Wigan. A 3-1 defeat leaves the Royals outside the playoffs. 2007-8 Whilst Reading thrash Derby 4-0 a late goal for Fulham...

Re: why don't more people from Ethnic Minorities support Reading?

Asians do not like football. I never played football for or against Asian players in the Sunday leagues. But cricket was a different story with loads of Asian players. Sometimes entire clubs. We have a lot of eastern europeans in west Reading maybe we could target them? I don't think that's necessa...

Thank you for posting that. It’s really sad we don’t have a blue plaque or something something to remind people that’s where Reading played for 100 years.l know Coventry City have a really nice monument to Highfield road.
