Re: The curious case of a missing CEO

I hope he’s left or he’s been locked away until he can find a decent LB.

Re: Rumour- return of the Mc…… intyre

It’s a no from me. I just want a proper young LB with pace. There’s one at Bromley who’s been mentioned on x and he sounds decent.

He is set to sign for Mansfield. I guess we can’t compete financially with other EFL clubs.

Re: You can’t say I didn’t warn you!

I think Brogue is entitled to his opinions and to be sceptical about the new owners, especially after the shitshow of the last few years. I suspect that when DY sold the club to RC a proportion of money was held back by RC to cover any unforeseen liabilities etc. Rob was here for a court case late l...

No idea if good or bad, but Redwood Holdings Ltd are also late filing their accounts. Hopefully, this is all just a storm in a tea cup.

Re: The inevitable poll for the next Reading manager

I would like Wellens, but I’m certain it’ll be Bloomfield. He was a strong candidate at Blackpool and then he withdrew from the recruitment process. Ian how is Harris doing at Cambridge?

Confident of a 3-1 win.

Basically, I can’t see Orient having enough quality to beat us. We’re the best team in League One and we’ll demonstrate that tomorrow.

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

Slight Robbie Keane vibes in his statement. However I will give him a chance - no one seems to know too much about him so we'll just have to wait and see how his involvement pans out. I hope he doesn't turn up in a pair of cowboy boots with a big belt buckle though. We could have rodeos during the ...

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

Interesting that we have had radio silence from Barnum & Bailey since the transfer window shut. No doubt recharging for the half season ticket sales in December. Roll up Roll up What do you want hear from them? It's an international window, the club released a video about the transfer window fe...

Re: 3 more signings

I reckon that Cheek lad at Bromley would be a smart, low cost option. Scores bucket loads, experienced and presumably hard as nails after so long slugging it out against non league beefcake CBs. Some players hit their peak in their 30s. Get him on a 2 year deal and he'll be just shy of his 35th bir...

Brogue
blythspartan Is there any more news about signing another striker?

Still told we have a big man lined up.

Thanks Brogue! You’ve been spot on with so many signings this season. I have even enjoyed the speculation of the ones that haven’t come to fruition yet.

Re: RUMOUR: Reading in talks over Welcome to Wrexham style docuseries

As most of the Royals are season ticket holders the Yanks would love it.

Chris Tarrant could host “who wants to win a million for a player” and Rob could participate. It would make for gripping TV and Rob could use AI for his phone a friend or IR might be a better option.

Re: Hunt out.

I feel that Hunt has a very inexperienced team around him. A bit of help from someone like Colin, Bowen or Warburton might be beneficial. I really want him to succeed, but I don’t think he’ll get the time.

Re: Club legend.

I think Charlie Hurley should get a mention. He loved a great attacking style of football and in 1975/76 he got us our first promotion in decades. I remember my dad and uncles celebrating and I saw most of the home games that season, but not the Tranmere one. Also, he was oxf*rd stitched up by lack ...

Re: Hunt out.

I think it’s a bit too early to be calling for Hunt’s head, but if we lose the next two games I think his position will become more difficult. Unlike some, I don’t think our transfer business has been awful, and I have seen much worse over the years. Hunt needs to get the best out of this squad, but...

Re: Titbits

Tbf to Brogue or whoever he is (not sure about Gary from Woodley) he gets a lot right. Also, it’s clear that whilst we might agree terms with players some will hold out for better offers. Personally, I like all the updates and speculation as it adds some fun to proceedings.

Re: Michael Cheek (Bromley)

I’d be happy with this signing. He has been a consistent goal scorer for a while and he gets under the skin of defenders.
