Re: Squad for 2025-2026

I am delighted Pereira is staying, but I don’t think Mbengue will. I think we have Ajayi lined up, but no idea about anyone else.

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

If what I have seen is genuine the solid blue hoops have gone. There’s still blue hoops, but in what looks like a paisley style pattern. I didn’t see any flowers as has been rumoured.

As a big fan of the film Quadrophenia, I would like:

Heard a rumour of Spurs at home, which would drum up some excitement.

Re: Rumour- Chem Campbell permanent

A good pal associated with the Wolves academy said Chem never 100% recovered from his injury last season and that affected his performances.

Re: Speculation - Nathan Lowe

Could do worse than try to get Stoke’s Nathan Lowe on a season loan. Did wonders in the L2 last year so would benefit player and club to be assessed at a higher level Yeah, he’d be a really good signing. There’s also a lad who plays for Burton (can’t remember name) who looked a real handful when we...

The buyback clause in the contract will mean Dai will one day lead us back to the Prem.

Does she still have shares in the club? What do you know? Is it likely to stop the sale?

Re: CONFIMRED

With the proposed sale progressing towards completion, the League has extended the time allowed for Mr Dai Yongge to divest his interests in Reading FC until 17:00 on Monday 12 May 2025. As communicated earlier this week, a sale of the Club has been agreed in principle with Redwood Holdings Limited...

Re: Are Reading fans unfairly critical of black players?

I did hear Garcia’s interview and I thought he sounded fine. He’s a young lad and probably hasn’t had much or any media training. When I go to games I see the players wearing the shirt and race doesn’t come into the equation for me. I just want them to try their best for the team. I try not to be to...

Re: Low point of the Dai era

The takeover collapsing in September 2024 for me. I never really took the deal to buy Bearwood seriously, but probably should have done. Also, Dai running around the pitch was odd.

Re: CONFIMRED

Until I see Dai removed as the owner on the Companies House website I can’t get too ecstatic about the takeover. Sorry, for my ignorance, but does a deal in principle mean that it’s just a matter of time until it’s done (i.e., legal formalities)? Without knowing detail its impossible to say. Is it ...

Re: CONFIMRED - The 2nd final countdown

It would be nice if Dai Yongge and Couhig both came on and shook hands after signing the contracts. Reading fans can then show some appreciation for Dai's efforts and wish him luck for his next adventure. This. Whatever you think of Dai, his heart has always been in the right place and he deserves ...

Re: why don't more people from Ethnic Minorities support Reading?

Reading is a really cosmopolitan town and it’s a real shame that our fanbase isn’t more diverse. I went to a school off the Oxford Road in the 70s and a couple mates from the BAME community still go to games. However, their children and grandchildren aren’t interested. They prefer to follow the Lond...

Re: Goal of the season 2024/25

Stranded Wing v Wrexham.

It was an absolutely stunning bit of football - we all love a thunderbastard but that bit of sublime play beats them all, for me at least.
