Re: University Research for Dissertation Purpose - About foreign ownership of English Football Club.

Yep - you can get British owners who are utterly toxic and only out to screw the football club, and you can get superb overseas owners, so to categorise "foreign owners" as one group is simplistic. I think simplistic is generous. I'd go with divisive and xenophobic. How far would you take...

Re: University Research for Dissertation Purpose - About foreign ownership of English Football Club.

Can you imagine if this study was against any other business?

Any university studies being done on Indian landlords, Chinese takeaway owners, Irish driveway layers, Aussie bartenders or Eastern european labourers?

In the current climate I think this "research" is in rather poor taste.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT YET* CONFIMRED

If you want to be positive about the immediate future of the club then the fact that none of our valuable players have either made it clear they want to leave, have been sold for a knock down fee or are even being rumoured to leave is it. Add to that that Selles has not walked when he could have do...

BRO_BOT Germans hate the Dutch (understandable) more than the English, right St.P?

They are mostly supporting the Netherlands as the team most likely to beat the Spanish (still smarting from losing in the quarters). Or so the Dutch media are reporting anyway.

Germany have been great hosts - no doubt about that. Just the stuff on the field hasn't been the best but you can't win 'em all.

Re: Reading FC Womens World

No one from Reading ever went to watch them. I've mentioned before that colleagues who are Chelsea Women's fans went to the Madejski and couldnt believe there were no fans in attendance other than Chelsea ones. If people from Reading don't turn up and watch, there is no reason for foreign rich peop...

Brogue Never in doubt

My only concern is if England come up against Georgia.

Both nations venerate Saint George, and so who does he favour?

It's Reading QPR stuff, we've venerated him for longer, but they've been unbroken in their veneration.

LUX Wink to Green :D .

Slovakia are 9/1 to win over 90 minutes. And 10/3 the draw.

Mad odds.

Hope I’m wrong.

Worth a punt surely

Do away with qualifying and make the nations league more of a thing. Qualification places come from that.

Re: The general Euro2024 chit chat thread

I was also trying to find what separated Denmark and Slovenia in the end, and last night BBC posted this in the England live feed Good grief, they didn't half make separating teams complicated! When was the last major tournament (euros/world cup) where lots were drawn to determine group placings? I...
