Re: Players at Reading who you had completely forgotten about

Former Arsenal defender Steve Morrow. Probably most well known for being dropped by Tony Adams whilst celebrating winning the league Cup, breaking his arm and causing him to miss the FA Cup final a few weeks later.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Leyton Orient (h)

WestYorksRoyal We looked better after the subs, and I also think Savage has looked lost this season. I think we should start 4-2-3-1 at Stockport with Wing and Fraser, with Elliott or Doyle ahead.

Could not agree more!

Uke
Sutekh Williams has lost an L.

What’s the recovery time from that?

He's back out on the grass.

Re: Hunt in

He changed his tactical approach while maintaining his philosophical approach. He created a more compact team by playing a higher line with three forwards to harry the opposition when they were in possession. Pressing in this way not only increases the opportunity to win the ball back high, but als...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Barnsley (a)

The squad is better than 21st in the league. Anybody can play fantasy football based on data. Real life is very different. Everybody else was able to do their transfer business earlier. Building a team from what's left. Was always going to require a degree of luck. No preseason to gel either. Excus...

Re: Hunt in

A lot of our problems seems to be mental and morale related. We've played well in spells this season. Last 20 minutes at Bolton, most of Wycombe, spells today. But we also look poor in spells. First 30 today could have cost us the game; instead 10 minutes in the second half did. We haven't yet put ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Barnsley (a)

If we'd been unlucky in games, created loads of chances, had lots of long term injuries to key players, not conceded many goals or chances, etc, maybe you could understand. But that’s not the case here. We aren't creating great chances, nearly all of our goals have been from outside the box, we aren...

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

Cheers Clyde. Did he happen to mention anything about contract renewals? Specifically for those players in the first team that are out of contract next summer?

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

Interesting that we have had radio silence from Barnum & Bailey since the transfer window shut. No doubt recharging for the half season ticket sales in December. Roll up Roll up What do you want hear from them? It's an international window, the club released a video about the transfer window fe...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Swindon Town (a)

Snowflake Royal Stickland doing his best to get us to sign Ferguson.

They've kinda given up a bit.

One of the players that could have done with a loan move.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Swindon Town (a)

Mid Sussex Royal Swindon have made 9 changes from their win at Crewe, but Ollie Palmer starts.

Princewill E & Bodin also start.

James Earnshaw says their line up is "very strong"

Palmer up against Stickland is a frightening prospect.

Re: Summer 2025 Transfer Ratings

I'm not sure there'd have been the same reaction if we'd reinvested the Sam Smith money on Marriott, Lane and Ritchie at the time. I reckon most fans would be saying what good business it was. This squad has every chance of reaching the top 6. It would require a few to take their chance and step up,...

Re: Summer 2025 Transfer Ratings

The window has been above average - people are far too fixated on one word which they take out of context - wasn't the quote that the window had the potential to be spectacular not that it would be. A bigger presence upfront would have made everyone stand up and of course, there are still options o...

Re: Summer 2025 Transfer Ratings

I'd say the squad is in good shape. Since IR's original post, we've brought in Williams who could well become signing of the season, Marriot, Doyle and Ritchie. I think we have a genuinely competitive L1 squad. I would have liked a Cole/Cheek target man option and such a signing would have moved us...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Swindon Town (a)

Saw an approximately 11 year old wearing full Swindon gear in the Dolan on Saturday. Became ashamed at myself for silently mulling over ‘what age is it appropriate to give a child grief?’ and chastised myself for having such a thought. I feel like that's a 'make eye contact, hold for slightly too l...

Re: Summer 2025 Transfer Ratings

It's been a fairly good window. Still a few decent options in the free agent market for a big target man, too.

It's unrealistic to think every transfer will work out, but still a loan space open for January.

6.5/10, but could still get better with free agents.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Swindon Town (a)

Extended-Phenotype Defs give Marriott and Ritchie a start. Garcia could feel a bit hard done by being dropped, so start him too.

Yeah, agree with this. Would probably go:

Stevens

Abrefa (unless he's injured?)
Stickland
Burns
Ryan

Fraser
Rushesha
Sackey

Garcia
Marriott
Ritchie

Should have more than enough to win.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Swindon Town (a)

Swindon currently have Princeton Ehibhatiomhan on loan from Southampton, so we could see the brothers go head to head! Kinda exciting that. And of course Matt Richie is a former Robin too. Could be his debut back at the country ground? Loads going on in this match! They have started the league well...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (h)

I think Hunt is still setting up as if Smith was here, who could do that role asked as well as anyone in this division Otherwise I think Wareham actually did the role pretty well. Better suited to it than the 3 we have now Completely agree. I think Hunt basically took last season's system and dropp...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Port Vale (h)

Some tough competition now - especially in the wide areas, interested to see who misses out Would probably go with: Pereira Ahmed Burns Williams Jacob Wing Elliott Savage Lane O’Mahony Kyerewaa Stevens, Abrefa, Dorsett, Fraser, Doyle, Ritchie, Marriott Harsh on Camara who has 2 in 2 as well as a de...
