Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Every time something like this^ happens, a European Super League moves a step closer again. It's bullshit.

Re: Weekend Football

Walsall have had the most 2 sided season I can remember tbh. Aberdeen's is pretty hilarious, tbf, although they have turned it around again in the last few weeks. https://tinypic.host/images/2025/04/01/Screenshot-2025-04-01-094618.jpg 33 points from the first 36, and then 4 from the next 42.

Re: Weekend Football

Palace's win at Fulham at the weekend was a continuation of their remarkable away form. They have lost just one of their last 13 away games, at Arsenal in the League Cup, and they haven't lost on their travels in the league since 21st October, at Forest. Indeed no opposition player has scored a home...

Re: Weekend Football

Quirk of the fixtures that Liverpool and Arsenal both play Everton and Fulham in their next two games. If Liverpool equal or better Arsenal's results in those two games they will need just three wins from their last seven games to take the title, goal difference allowing - or just two wins if one of...

Re: Weekend Football

Hendo LOLeeds.

Meslier really is garbage - they'd probably be promoted now if they had a competent 'keeper.

It's quite astonishing how many poor goals he lets in. If they had Trafford in goal, Leeds would probably have sailed past our 106.

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

Harry Kane can't have nice things #412.

With Davies and Upamecano out for the rest of the season, Hiroki Ito started for Bayern at centre-back at the weekend - and fractured a metatarsal for the second time this season. Bayern might end up asking Joao Palhinha to fill in in defence.

Re: CONFIMRED - The final countdown

IF RFC has put forward the offer of putting £6M into Escrow, and if that's the only thing holding up the sale to Platek, then where is the issue for Mr Couhig? After his media round following last Friday, he said he was not a blocker to the sale of RFC; if thats the case, then what stops him from a...

Re: World Cup 2026

In the same group as Iran, Uzbekistan need one win from their last two games, one of which is away to third placed UAE, to qualify for their first World Cup.

Re: CONFIMRED - The final countdown

Must admit - as I've only dipped in to the detail on occasion, that I'd missed that we are subject to suspension from the EFL in just eight days. :o If the club can convince the EFL that the sales process is progressing it won`t happen. If Couhig rejects the new proposal, are we confident that we c...

Re: The phoenix club thread

I really love the optimism, but I find the notion that Royals City Town Flyers FC gets crowds of 4,000 quite funny. Maybe that's my pessimism, but I see two things. One my general view, that whilst we have loyal fans we don't have a particularly 'passionate' support base, I think a phoenix club woul...

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

Please let Harry Kane win something.

Bayern have lost Dayot Upamecano and Alphonso Davies for several months after both suffered knee injuries on international duty.

Re: World Cup 2026

Absorbing how awful Italy's recent World Cup record has been. Missed the last two tournaments, and a combined one victory in two Group Stage exits previous to that. The World Cup win in 2006 is the only instance of Italy winning a knockout game at the finals since 1998. Italy will surely mak...

Re: World Cup 2026

Whilst it is basically impossible for Brazil not to qualify for the World Cup, they are totally screwing up their qualification fixtures. Currently 4th in CONMEBOL and a point above Colombia in 6th. They have lost five of their 14 games so far, including in 4-1 Argentina last night. I don't know muc...

Talksport just a stream of scousers saying TAA is a disgrace and is never welcome back at Anfield or the city again  Obviously some reactions pretty extreme - but I can understand the frustration with the way TAA has dealt with this. By all means express a desire to leave the club, privately -...

Probably one of the worst kept secrets in football - but looks like it is now mos...

Re: World Cup 2026

I think there's a great deal of revisionism there Rothers. If your reference is last year's Euros, then fair enough, but Southgate's teams went through a number of different iterations, and it wasn't all dull, turgid stuff. It's of note that Capello's side is the only England team to (marginally) sc...
