Re: Rival Watch

Never really understood the clamour from our fans for Elphick...played 3/4 games max and in one of them we conceded 4 goals at home to a bang average Ipswich team (not forgetting all 4 went in on the half Elphick played) Have you forgotten how bad we were that season? I think it was a mixture of wi...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Very much this. I think he may be able to do a job but people seem to be overhyping him with insufficient evidence that he actually is an adequate Championship striker. Unless we keep Bodvarsson/Baldock/McNulty, relying on Nova, Loader and even Nelson if we somehow get him back would be really risk...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

I agree on him being a cheaper option, but 9 in 27 (+2) in the Eredivisie is hardly prolific - joint 26th top scorer in the league and 52nd for goals per 90 (min 10 games). 1.8 shots per 90 also suggests a very different style of play to Oliveira, who averages over double that across his career. Pu...

That’s a treck for me. Should do Brentford.

Yup, Brentford is a very easy one to do, even if it’s midweek.

When is their new stadium open? It looks brilliant.

This season is their last at Griffin Park so the 20/21 season. Need Brentford to be at a good date, like going to Griffin Park

Re: Rumour - Liam Kelly

Any news on when our Liam Kelly is on the move? Was hoping he’d be the next out the door Not sure but it does seem that he's been cut adrift a bit from the rest of the squid. Unless we can find more midfielders, we could learn to regret that with a current first team midfield selection of: Rinomhot...

Re: Rumour - Ben Heneghan

Our outgoings dramatically outweigh our incomings, we're broke, our owners aren't but we're not our owners. So basically the same thing. No it isn’t the same thing. But as it was explained to you previously and you didn’t get it there is no point explaining it again. No, I got it, I disagreed with ...

Few more transfer dealings in the Champ Liam Kelly gone to QPR (fortunately not our one  ) Lee Wallace (from Rangers) gone to QPR - previously worked with Warburton at Rangers Luke Thomas - Derby to Barnsley (spent the season at Coventry, Derby fans slightly disappointed with that one) Daniel ...

Re: Fixtures for 2019/2020

Is the Carabao cup draw also the same day? Is it seeded/non seeded, generally remembered it as being seeded but then we played Birmingham last year in the 1st round Seeding was removed last year. Is that including the south/north divide? I think I preferred it when it was seeded to avoid the inevit...

Re: Rival Watch

Slaven Bilic on his way to West Brom - very good appointment Garry Monk on his way out of Birmingham if reports are to be believed Houghton to Birmingham would be the most sensible bet if Monk is leaving. Hughton can surely do better than brum? I think he’d go back there again. At the time he said ...

Re: Rival Watch

Well, there are conflicting reports on it. We now have some saying he may well stay (including the BBC - very reliable) so I expect this may rumble on Apparently Birmingham have the third least home wins in the division which hasn't pleased the board But I agree with you, Monk is a difficult manager...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

To be honest, there were periods throughout the season where I kept changing my mind, after Bolton and Blackburn I thought we were doomed but then after Hull and Brentford with Eza there I thought we'd be safe. It seemed like we would keep giving false promises every so often just to disappoint agai...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

Bit more in the Portuguese media re: what JG found when he arrived now on the Tilehurst End website https://thetilehurstend.sbnation.com/2019/6/12/18660216/jose-gomes-it-was-chaos-when-i-arrived-reading-fc-royals I think fair to say that we were a dire shambles by the time Gomes arrived. Re: Fixtures for 2019/2020

If it's anything to go by, the festive fixtures are the 21st, 26th, 28th and 1st. Obviously subject to change though

The thing that strikes me is the Villa Derby game, one game later one is going to Tottenham, the other could feasibly be going to Luton

Re: Nations League & Friendlies

VAR is far from perfect. I see that but let’s give it a decent amount of time before we completely write it off. A year really isn’t that long especially as it’s been used sparingly to date. The game is so fast these days with too much cheating going on that it’s inevitable match officials get it w...

Another one set for a move. Jonathan Woodgate to Boro. Seems like teams are now going for the "younger, less experienced types" after the likes of Farke, Wagner etc

Going for Wigan away first game of the season Stoke at home last game Leeds away will be a night game like always and we'll get the usual comments Away on boxing day like always Prem fixtures come out tomorrow. This will give us an inkling as to when the international breaks are/maybe when some midw...
