Re: January window

Jokull Andresson returns to us after a solid two games in goal on emergency loan to Morecambe, looking at the goalkeeper situation I can honestly see Southwood being released at the end of the season, Andresson and CBC are younger and appear to have greater potential. Our keeper situation is a bit ...

Re: VAR

Main talking point tonight of VAR was from Old Trafford. Must say, it’s nice to see the boot on the other leg for United - on the other end of dubious decisions. Not too sure about both the incidents themselves but personally didn’t think there was much in it on either I do think that the outcome sh...

Re: Rival Watch

Still got to keep a close eye on Blackburn who have Luton (H) on Saturday before a favourable run in February, think they only play one team in the top 10, and that’s Watford (H) - a side who generally struggle away from home

Re: Weekend Football

There's some real cognitive dissonance from West Ham fans on social media about Moyes - fans who can't hold their hands up to being wrong about the chap and who are actively talking down their results still. Best one I read last night was '10 wins this season. Bet we don't win another game. Moyes w...

Re: We're ManchesteROFL United, we do what we want

Tonight’s the exact sort of game why I don’t envisage United winning the title In the likes of Pogba, Greenwood, Martial, Rashford, their players just aren’t consistent enough on a week to week basis. Personally think Cavani should be playing as he’s their only real conventional striker, I know Unit...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bournemouth (h)

Think the lack of form was the reason for the strong side last night - seen as a chance to get a win under the belts and come into the game against us with a little more confidence. If ever there was a game calling for us to score early this is it as could decimate whatever confidence they do have....

Re: Rival Watch

QPR have signed Johansen on loan

Decent signing that, QPR looked in trouble at a point but bringing in Johansen and Austin is good business

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Surely Steve Bruce is next. Not sure who would take that job though. Rafa? I'd love Rafa to go back there and take them down. Thought he did an extremely average job last time, but their fans worshipped him. +1 to that Newcastle’s main criticism of Bruce? Defensive, dour football Benitez’s style :?...

Re: Weekend Football

Moyes has put together a really good side, four straight wins in the Prem and up to 4th

Possibly over reactionary but can’t think of many better midfield duos than Rice and Soucek

These roundabout managers eh?

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Amazes me that Liverpool don't have a young academy centre-back with pace. Williams and Phillips are both reasonable defenders, can pass and head, but have zero pace. It's rare that Liverpool are camped in their box, defending for their lives, and they're not bad against set pieces. The one area th...

Re: CheLOLsea

Apparently there’s a clause in the contracts of every Chelsea manager that if they don’t beat Leicester away - they’re going to be fired

That’s now three of the last four managers (Mourinho, Sarri and now Lampard) who have all been sacked after having Leicester away as a last league game

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

I'm finding some of the comments here bizarre. Rashford is a fantastic player. Same, he really is one of the best English talents to come through in recent years. The guy is 23 and has scored 51 goals in 161 premier league games and 11 goals in 40 games for England. He is only going to get better f...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

The nature of how teams set up is vastly different in the Prem to the Bundesliga The impression I get from occasionally watching Bundesliga games (perhaps the likes of Stranded could confirm/reject this) is that the games are quite open, hence for the likes of Havertz/Minamino, there's pockets of s...

Re: January window

Definitely a good player - where does he play exactly though - not quite sure where he fits in. Sort of RWB isnt he? Attacking midfielder/winger. 7 goals in 29 appearances in the Bundesliga. Given that we’re pretty well stocked in that area I’m surprised Arsenal would consider sending him here. Qua...

genome Fat Frank apparently on his way out

Tuchel to take over

Signings haven’t worked for Lampard, the likes of Werner and Havertz may come good with time but that’s a luxury very few are afforded these days

Re: January window

Seems fairly likely that we are trying to get Reiss Nelson in from Arsenal. I thought we were looking for a striker and defender but I’d be happy with this, finally add some competition for Ejaria who perhaps may not play 90 minutes every week even in games where he contributes very little And, of ...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Great piece of writing by Barney Ronay in the Guardian that sums things up for Liverpool. Liverpool’s owners don’t want to pay over par for a match‑ready centre-back in the transfer window. This has not been the model. The model has been smart, considered, value for money. The model has worked. But...
