Re: Next Season's Squad.

I appreciate that this is off track but I have just been watching highlights of the 2011/12 Championship winning team on YouTube and I was surprised at how good that team was. At the time I think I always compared them to the 2005/06 team and I didn’t give them the credit they deserved. Seeing all ...

Re: The generic transfer thread

OT but I've heard some stories about what Bent got up to at Villa. To say he got around understates it.

Re: AFCON 2019

Well, yes, quite.

Senegal and Cote d'Ivoire were fairly well represented during their games, to be fair, but the two nights Algeria won were insane.

One of our group went home early, took a direct route through the Place de l'Étoile, got tear gassed. Standard.

No, Dodi.

Yeah, same as everyone else. A trier in a team of melts. Decent number of goals. Wish him all the best.

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

Enric Gallego was an amateur footballer until January when at the age of 32 he signed his first professional contract by joining Huesca. They got relegated but he showed enough for Getafe to sign him for €6M and give him a 3 year contract. Getafe finished 5th in La Liga last season quite the dream ...

Re: AFCON 2019

Algeria also won their second round tie last night. To say it kicked off in Paris is somewhat understating it. Fleets of mopeds flying Algerian flags doing the rounds.

Re: Teletext

You could put goal update on at the bottom of the TV, so back in Champions League on ITV days, I'd insist on having that on for our midweek games.

The one that comes to mind is in March '01, 87th minute equaliser against Wycombe.

There were CL games that day - Real Madrid Leeds. Heady times.

then of course there will be the youth game, typically U13s who play on full size pitches with full size goals, anon anon Never played on a full sized pitch playing youth football or cricket and I am sure the goals were about 75% normal size. my lad did with Kennet Valley U13s,14s etc OK, its 5+ ye...

Re: The womens world cup

gotta agree, keep these wimmin in their place i'll put that down to sunstroke... the average prem keeper is 6ft3, Bardlesly is 5ft9 and Hjelmseth is 5ft7 average 6ft man has a reach of 8ft which luckily is the height of the crossbar It sounds a bit harsh and radical but it is probably a valid point...

Re: AFCON 2019

This was originally to be in Cameroon. I had work up the coast that could have overlapped, which made it A PLAN.

It got moved to Egypt. Brilliant.
