Re: MATCHWATCH : Charlton Athletic (a) sponsored by Deniss Rakels

Would take a young academy player learning his craft and making the odd mistake over 'steady Eddie' Chris Gunter putting in 6/10 performances all day long. Great financial saving being made by the club in moving Osho over to right back. Agree but think it is a balancing act. Having Morrison beside ...

Snowflake Royal Lesson to give more Academy lads minutes there.

And certainly good for the academy lads to see! Play well and it won't go unnoticed.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Charlton Athletic (a) sponsored by Deniss Rakels

Same team I think. Honestly I would keep it the same until Ejaria and Joao are back then slot them in for Obita and Puscas. Unless the latter scores a few more. Reckon Joao would do really well in this set up. On Osho, do we think he is likely to sign on? He looks tremendously strong, good speed an...

Re: BFI Follow Huddersfield

Was pretty boring. Pele looked good but then got a bit scrappy in yhe second half. McIntyre was my MOTM. Looked completely ready to start 46 games next season.

Old Man Andrews
NewCorkSeth Lovely weighted pass by Swift out to Osho followed by a lovely weighted pass on to Puscas.

How long have you weighted for passing like this?

All my life.

Re: Squad for 2020/21

I think you're forgetting the likes of Pog and Drenthe who would both be on at least the same as Moore or Mannone are now if not way more. Pog was reported to be on something like Gunter, GMac and Popa combined. We should be aiming for wages to be 80-90% of turnover max not just being happy it's ba...

Re: Squad for 2020/21

Heard it every year for all those years. X is leaving, that will solve the problem. Never does, so forgive my cynicism. We'll probably sign Shevchenko's third cousin twice removed and pay him £6m a week to replace Popa anyway. Oh I agree its a problem, one we have had for far too long, but lets not...

Re: Squad for 2020/21

I don't agree the wage bill is a short term thing. It's been a problem for about 7 years now and this is the worst it's been. The current oocs won't solve it, they'll just bring it back to previously excessive levels (hopefully) Let's count off who we are shifting: Mannone, Gunter, McCleary, Blacke...

Re: Squad for 2020/21

If he's really on £35k a week we should probably take offers of 10p and up. We know the financial situation is bad. It doesn't matter how much money the owners have, you can't continue to have a wage bill at 200%+ of income and a consistent lack of success There are multiple views on the financial ...

Re: Squad for 2020/21

interesting. Barrow is a tough one to judge. He can definitely add something - he is no Aluko. And he is great mates with Meite so that might help matters as Meite looks to be hanging around I didnt ever think he had a particularly bad attitude on the pitch, but clearly a bit of a loose cannon off ...

Re: Would this ex-players team get promoted?

Nameless Would you include Cureton ( still playing at 44!) and Le fondre to the squad (one or the other I would think).

Le Fondre is first name on the team sheet for me. Of course he would be on the bench.. but still..

Re: Squad for 2020/21

Urm.. Does Barrow want to come back? He just posted a photo of himself playing for Reading with the caption "cant wait". I mean, provided he isnt one of our ridiculous contracts we should be happy to have him back right? His pace alone... Do we want him back? He's certainly not going to b...

Re: Squad for 2020/21

Where you getting that from? He looked fine in his appearances. Why wouldn't he be ok for No 2? Who do we have that's better currently? A converted academy CB who is ooc or a Brazilian, apparently defensive midfielder, that's had less than a game at RB for us? Ah. Bad wording. The Howe wanting out ...
