Re: Rumour - Ronan Curtis

Ronan Keating
Ronan O’Gara

I’ve not met many people called Yakou but I still think it’s the sort of name that suggests you might get 4 goals away at Luton one day.

Re: Reading FC 2018/19 accounts

I'm not an expert - but my understanding is that: The issuing of shares to convert owner debt is purely an accountancy practice and has no impact on the 'real' finances of the club or FFP. We've still lost exactly the same amount, it's just the way that lose is financed has been changed. Although w...

Re: Squad for 2020/21

Re: right back, where is Tennai Watson? I presume that Osho got the nod for the Luton game as Tennai was on a season long loan at Coventry and therefore couldn’t be considered despite having returned to the club a few months ago? Hard to see Watson figuring given he’s not had great loan spells. Has...

Re: Rival Watch

Actuallythe answer is Steve Coppell, 106..... That was better achievement than Ainsworth at Wycombe Was it really though? Both are great achievements but I think Ainsworth building and guiding Wycombe to success is slightly greater. Getting promoted from Div 1 via the playoffs is a bigger achieveme...

Re: Squad for 2020/21

The wage issue clearly is a short term issue. Whether it has been going on for several years really isn’t the point. It’s about players on contracts of 1 or 2 years duration. Once their contract is up then the wages disappear. Unless we chose to give them a new contract on better terms or sign play...

Re: Would this ex-players team get promoted?

No Leroy lita? Doesn’t qualify as he’s not technically still an active player. signed up for the 2020/21 season with Nuneaton Borough fwiw. Hadn’t seen that. Not in the squad because I’d rather have Curo or Le Fondre then ! Wouldn’t have thought Lita would be the sort to spin out his career moving ...

Re: Rival Watch

If Wycombe win the playoffs will it be the greatest managerial achievement in football history by Gareth Ainsworth ? Categorically true. Whether it's the greatest managerial achievement in football history , is a totally different story. Bob Stokoe rescuing Carlisle. Carlisle making the top divisio...

Re: Squad for 2020/21

I'd say its probably a good opportunity for a club to sign Moore now if they have been following him. They know the financial situation, they know we need to cut the wage bill, and now it seems he isnt necessarily crucial to Bowen's plans. I reckon we'd take 3m I’m not sure anyone knows the current...

Re: Squad for 2020/21

This may be an unpopular opinion but for me Barrow is a better player than Ejaria, albeit a very different one, and also complements our other players better. His directness suits Meite and Swift in different ways. Ovie might well have a better career in the long run and clearly has talent, but he ...

Re: Squad for 2020/21

Tend to agree with Nameless here. No one is going to choose not to sign Moore / Swift etc because they haven't played he last few meaningless games. And very few teams are going to be inspired to sign them off the back of them having good performances in those few of games. I could maybe see the ar...

Re: Squad for 2020/21

It would all depend on the reason we let Barrow go last summer. If we let him go just because of finances alone and the fact we offloaded his salary for a year then I would love to see him back. If however as at times has been suggested he was a bad influence then I very much doubt he will play for...

Re: Rival Watch

Am I right in saying that a win tonight and Luton / Barnsley draw we are mathematically safe? Bowen has done alright hasn't he? Some turnaround. He has done what was asked of him I guess. Wouldn't say it was to surprising given the squad we have compared to others down there. He’s no Gareth Ainswor...

Have you factored in the tricky bit of looking at who has to play who ?

Re: Squad for 2020/21

Urm.. Does Barrow want to come back? He just posted a photo of himself playing for Reading with the caption "cant wait". I mean, provided he isnt one of our ridiculous contracts we should be happy to have him back right? His pace alone... It would all depend on the reason we let Barrow go...
