Re: Referees

Have to say that the refereeing in the UK has been atrocious for many years. I mean, just look at the pool of Prem refs, they are the same idiots every week. I'm not even sure that any of the refs played footie, let alone know the rules properly. I'm going to give my 10p worth and call me names all...

Re: Ex Players

Pepe the Horseman Alex Fernandez just scored an 89th minute pen away at Barcelona, to make it 1-1.

Is there another player who has achieved "cult status" for playing so few games for Reading FC?

David Lee started fewer games.
Paul Canoville didn’t play many more.

Re: Referees

There’s good and bad refs. Unfortunately they often get judged by people with no qualifications to make that judgement. People who think that ‘not having played the game’ is any reason why referees aren’t able to do their job , and don’t see the irony that ‘not having referees a game’ seems to be no...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bristol City (a)

Here we are congratulating the boys on a measly 2-0 win, when they were on a losign streak, huge injury woes, imminent manager departure, and Watford were able to put 6 past them. Should we have done a lot better? I think Westwood52 must be your grandad with the common ability to pluck only negativ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Middlesbrough (h)

Silly question, but why do the u23s play a different formation to the first team? Surely we should be prepping them for the first-team action. Puscas won't get any benefit from playing 2 upfront if he's expected to be a 1 upfront type of player when he comes on as a sub! Same goes for our midfield....

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Bristol fans are fcuking deluded then. Paul Cook would be a sensible choice. The Bristol City owner is extremely wealthy and , subject to FFP, he could afford to spend big on a new manager and a city the size of Bristol probably should have a Premier League club. They have had time at the top level...

Re: Rival Watch

Plus looking at our schedule we are pretty much Saturday Tuesday every week now till the end of the season bar a couple. Swansea are going to have to fit in another two games on top of what our busy schedule is. They basically will be Saturday Tuesday till the end of the season. That could have a b...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bristol City (a)

So the maximum will be 49 games (mainly reserves have played in the 2 cup games) taking into account play-offs over 8 months. Nobody will play the full 49 games because of injury and resting so I suspect that only somebody like Morro (ironically our oldest player) will play the maximum but many mor...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bristol City (a)

Vic the season is around a month shorter as it is. Players often playing twice a week are much more prone to injury. That’s a fact. No surprise Laurent was rested. Sensible to do if he was carrying knocks. The Championship is well known for being incredibly intense and physical which is why clubs l...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bristol City (a)

Sadly after 60 years of supporting this club,it is no longer a hobby;more a life style choice.I said a few iffy performances.Estevez and Ejaria.I don’t care what anybody says;I really do believe we need to be more ruthless in front of goal. The midfield are short of around ten goals between them.Oth...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Best odds for Bristol to be relegated 14/1 (ah, 16s apparently) Not good value. They are awful but to actually go down? Reading 80/1 to be champions, 7/1 to win the POs. Cardiff are 20/1 to win the POs. For me that is "20/1 to MAKE to POs" as, if they do they will be on top form with a sh...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bristol City (a)

Morro’s goal was a classic example of creating your own luck. The vision and confidence to drive forward and keep going was quite outstanding and by doing the unexpected he got the reward. If he’d simply won the ballin midfield and played it safe we probably wouldn’t have scored.... Lucky ? Perhaps,...

tidus_mi2 welp, McNair is gonna be suspended for Boro against us.

Warnock has already said he is over turning it, doesn’t think it was a foul.

Does Warnock decide these things?

Of course he does.
Do you know nothing ?

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Pepe the Horseman Bristol City fans seem to think they outplayed us and deserved to win.

How can a team that didn’t play OUTplay anyone ?
A shot on target might have been a useful th8ng for them to try for.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bristol City (a)

Two fortunate goals and a few iffy individual performances. However Yids and Rino were excellent. The loanees were all poor;although to be fair Semedo did win a lot in the air.Another Ejaria screw up.It looks as if it is going to take time for Puskas to get up to speed. You sound like you need to fin...

Re: Rumour - Richards to Everton

Well Tom Holmes has told RIchards over Instagram to "Sign da ting" so unless he is talking about the Bayern pre-agreement then who knows what is going on. Interesting* that all the "news" suggests the deal is still reliant on him passing a medical. Obviously the pandemic is maki...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Been listening to the opposition’s commentary for games recently. While it is still very much ‘local radio’ it has been almost without exception much preferable to the BBC berks effort. I watch the game for the action on the pitch, not for self indulgent waffle from presenters with delusions that th...

Re: Rumour - Richards to Everton

andrew1957 I wonder if Richards was dropped yesterday because he has signed for Bayern. Perhaps the owners are a tad aggrieved.

Hope the owners are having nothing to do with team selection.....
