Re: Sky Sports/ BT Sports

ITV have apparently decided to dig out all the games from Euro 1996 and show them again starting in May.

Re: Enjoying or hating the no football era?

Eh? There was interest in setting up football clubs locally in Nov / Dec 1871 - because the FA Cup had just started with Marlow and Maidenhead competing. Henley were formed about this time. It's theoretically possible that Reading could have been formed on 25 Dec 1871 but there's no evidence to sup...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

‪Great idea, but what about those who work in care homes as nurses and careers? I’m sure they’ve will have done more hands on work than the appointments clerks at outpatients. COVID-19 is going to go through care homes like a tsunami.‬ Nothing for them... Don't care homes come under NHS purview? Al...

All football below the National Leagues has been ended with the season “expunged”. Might other leagues around the world follow.....?

Re: The Non - League thread

Confirmed. All football below the National League has been ended. All results of this season have been expunged. Therefore no relegation from National Leagues North and South this season and everyone will be they were this season at the start of next season whenever that actually happens. https://ww...

Re: The Non - League thread

Step 5 and 6 season is over http://severnsport.co.uk/?p=13491 Steps 3 and 4 are expected to follow suit. National League have asked the FA to assist them in cancelling the rest of the season. What this means to Barrow's chances of getting promoted is unclear. It all probably makes some sense in non...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

How are funerals likely to be treated during all this? I presume they would just be limited to closest family, undertakers plus the vicar/celebrant?

Re: Ex Players

Think clubs everywhere should play behind closed doors, so long as the squads involved have a clean bill of health. At least the season would be progressing somewhat, albeit slowly.

And Mr Le Fondre has scored for Sydney FC

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

The RFU has ended (not voided) their season for all clubs below the top division (with relegation from the top division already sorted and Newcastle yet to drop a point in the division below that aspect of promotion wouldn’t matter anyway). Could that be a precedent football follows...? https://www....

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

So what are your thoughts as regards football getting back in operation. Personally think it’s going to be June at the earliest before getting fans back to games. I actually suspect the leagues/FA may resort to behind closed door games before then and also will consider scrapping FA Cup and playoff...

Re: On this day

Ark Royal 1998 and the appalling capitulation against O*ford at the Manor Ground. A more disgraceful performance is difficult to recall. Only consolation was that the taxi started up and moved off the rank for Terry.
