Re: Quick question, or not

72 bus Fans watch football on sky down the Pub.
Supporters go and watch their local team.

Pretty much what I think, although you do not have to go to the pub, (being a fan of Reading you wouldn't see many games). and my team RFC, is not local to me these days.

Re: Quick question, or not

I consider a Supporter to be one who goes to games and therefore pays money into the club, therefore "supports" the club. A fan, in my eyes is a Fanatic, who does not support the club in the way a supporter does. Sadly, these days I must class myself in the latter group, but have, in the p...

Re: Championship free agents... who would you have?

Are there any non-free agents that might be available on the cheap who have just been frozen out/training with the U21's? - the same situation as Gunter & McLeary? The only two non-free agents we could play are the two you mentioned. They won't be cheap, though, but at least if we did play them...

Re: Have we sold the Mad Stad to the owners/someone else?

I thought I heard or read somewhere it was the new training ground the Chinese had bought. At least, if that is true, it would be better than the stadium being sold. If things go wrong in the future, we could (at the expense of Grade 1), do without a training ground more than we could do without a s...

Yes a minutes applause will be very comforting wont it?

Bury were expelled from the league on the 27th August.

And also, I believe, it's 27 years since the last club were expelled from the League.

Re: Have we sold the Mad Stad to the owners/someone else?

No YOU won't, I walked into YOUR ground a few weeks ago. Had a look around before YOUR friendly with Bristol City. Very very tiny. No room for expansion. Can't accomodate large away support. Very little 'water holes' nearby. All in all, limited revenue opportunities. Small, neat, compact. But would...

Re: Have we sold the Mad Stad to the owners/someone else?

I think there's another issue with FFP. Take Forest Green Rovers for example. Ambitious owner but the ceiling of their ambitions may be League 1 because FFP will be applicable in the Championship and without an incremental increase in fan base and revenues outside the owner, they won't be able to a...

Re: Plymouth v Reading - Game 07 2019-2020 Prediction League

Sorry, Snowball, It was not a serious question, really. Just trying to be light hearted. Carry on your good work, you do a great job, one that I couldn't (or would) do. It must take a lot of your time up and posters who keep asking silly questions must make it seem like it's not worth it.

Re: Plymouth v Reading - Game 07 2019-2020 Prediction League

First time I have got the first goal time spot on. Trouble is it went in the wrong end! I don,t suppose I get a bonus point, do I? No? Thought not, but It got me thinking, if A Reading player had scored an own goal at that time would he count as the first Reading scorer?

Re: Will we get found out again?

Tbf, Swift scored right after GP went off/missed, so it is realistic to say the penalty would've been the 4th  Who's to say there would have been a penalty, had Pucas scored? When he missed, the game restarted with a goal kick by a Cardiff player, had he scored the game would have restarted w...

Re: Will we get found out again?

Just a thought, but if Puscas had taken that hat-trick goal and Meite had scored the penalty, what would bookies and pundits and Nobbers be saying? (Apart from "Reading won 5-0") Tbf, Swift scored right after GP went off/missed, so it is realistic to say the penalty would've been the 4th ...

Re: The Local Journo Thread

Can anyone clear up what happened. I got in the car after the game and Tim and Adie were talking about a Tweet that Yak had sent out being a bit cryptic, then a few minutes later they said it was because a 'fan' had tweeted Yak with something quite nasty. Also, I heard that Tim was bitching about t...

Re: BFTG - Cardiff

I guarentee there are thousands of "fans" who left after we got relegated from the EPL and have never returned. That coincides with our financial troubles and nearly going into administrations. Coincidence? Let's be honest. The past few years have hardly been entertaining. With football n...
