Re: Finance

I heard Brentford’s ground won’t be ready and so Irish have nowhere to play next season..... It looks well advanced on the latest timeline video. It's been all but finished for months, unless the finer details haven't been completed due to the lockdown? A report in The Sun, a week or so ago, said t...

Re: What got you into supporting RFC?! And when you did who was your nearest team?

Was it family connections? A memorable game? Location? Lifelong thing? Do you still support and follow them? I started to support them properly in 1997 when I first got a season ticket. I was born in North London in Enfield and my family are Spurs fans as are my Mrs family (great grandad has had a ...

Re: Rival Watch

A report in the Sun today says Brentford's new ground is going to postponed from it's expected opening in July but has no new date. It made me ponder how this enforced break will affect the London Irish move to West London. When does their contract expire at the Mad Stad? Will RFC say goodbye in May...

Re: Enjoying or hating the no football era?

https://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/reading-fc-defenders-season-ends-18031131 Seems the Belgian FA have taken the decision to end their season as things currently stand. This should pass ratification by full committee there later this month. Not sure what ramifications are for...

Re: Enjoying or hating the no football era?

Yeah. Would send Pep and Klopp mental. No friggin mercy. 1927 Blackpool home and away, 1929 Bradford City home and away, on successive days. Just imagine the travel on Christmas Day evening or Boxing Day morning or whatever they did. Bloody hell. I mean, it's not like they had less days in ...

Re: Enjoying or hating the no football era?

Because, as a lot of workers went to work most Saturdays, the attendance figures went up on a Bank Holiday. Believe it, or not, I can remember going to Christmas Day and Boxing Day matches. One that I remember is Exeter City {Home on Christmas Day), the two games were always against the same opposit...

Re: Royal Elm Park

Would 1000 fewer fans a game outweight the income from the development? Hmmm. And if we are challenging at the top or in the PL, that 1000 will likely be replaced by others anyway. What income? The Thai’s own that land. RFC get nothing from the development other than the £15m we sold the land for w...

Re: Do we dare to dream?

No. Anyway, IF we did make the play offs, with our record it would just be another disappointment. Better to miss out this year and go for automatic next year than have the disappointment carry over into next season, like it did last time.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield United (h) sponsored by the magic of the cup

If OMA does not get banned for this, it is ridiculous. I have been banned 4 times for much, MUCH less. We need consistency on this board. We do have consistency on this board. Nearly everyone is ruined by the same poster having an argument with anyone he cares to. It is about time someone issued a ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Barnsley (h) sponsored by hopeless at home

What do we know about Barnsley? Will they approach the game like Wigan (and therefore we will see a similar defeat) or are they more Leeds (slim defeat) or Sheff Wed (we won!) After last night is the idea to counteract the opposition or to try and play our own game (or somehow a mix of the two)? Th...

I initially thought that this thread was for talking about rival teams Actually it about rival Nobbers taking digs at each other and for the rest of us to watch them That goes for a lot of the threads these days, I'm afraid. It got boring some time ago. If any of those Nobbers who are intent on tel...
