Re: Fixtures for 2019/2020

I've got the calendar thingumabob on my phone and handily have all the fixtures updated automatically. But I don't live in Whitley so whatsthefuckingpoint of alerts an hour and then 15 mins before the game? I'm sure it was 48 hours last season. Can I change it or do I have to hope they update it? (...

Re: Financial Fair Play

Just a note on "spreading costs over 2-3 years. That happens anyway. FFP relates to your accounting losses, not cashflow. When you buy a player, you spread the cost over the length of the contract, not when you buy him. We have no reported cashflow problem, just an allowed accounting loss prob...

Re: Explain like I'm five: our FFP crisis

Clockwatcher Re Hogwood
If you look at the Wokingam planning website there is a planning application in for approx 45 houses but it does not say who the developer is......

Interesting. I always thought Hogwood was leased by the club, but cannot tell you from who! Maybe still owned by JM?

Re: Explain like I'm five: our FFP crisis

I've been meaning to take a stab at replying to this all day, but the day has gotten away from me. You may have seen my recent article for The Tilehurst End. https://thetilehurstend.sbnation.com/2019/5/20/18631429/what-is-financial-fair-play-and-why-should-we-care-reading-fc I'd have a read of that...

Re: Rival Watch

Lee Bowyer leaves Charlton, apparently? wtf? Link to the official website article here, but no official tweets sent out, bizarre https://www.cafc.co.uk/news/view/5d07a7df422e2/charlton-unable-to-reach-an-agreement-with-lee-bowyer-on-contract-extension Seems like Bowyer has changed his mind, signed ...

Re: Financial Fair Play

I’m fully expecting the club to take another hard line, as we did in January, to get players out. Gourlay has caused long lasting damage to this club, and needs must. The likes of Gunter, perhaps McCleary, need to move on. Big earners and neither required or as useful to us as they once were. Kelly...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

is anything going to actually happen this week? Need something better to talk about... Hopefully so. I’m getting considerably bored of reading about “5 players from Europe we could sign” or “30 free agents in the Prem we could sign” or weekly webchats where we find out nothing new! Bring back Watts...

tbh don't understand how a lad that size can be a goalkeeper. He must have some jump on him.

Re: Fixtures for 2019/2020

How long does it take to go one side of London t'other? I only really do one easy route through, major station to major station? Brentford is about a 15 minute bus ride from Ealing broadway or 6 or 7 minutes from South Ealing. So by public transport from Cambridge I'm guessing train to Kings X, Pic...

Re: Fixtures for 2019/2020

Is the Carabao cup draw also the same day? Is it seeded/non seeded, generally remembered it as being seeded but then we played Birmingham last year in the 1st round Seeding was removed last year. Is that including the south/north divide? I think I preferred it when it was seeded to avoid the inevit...

Fish finings are often used to filter beer. You're not consuming animal products, but animal products are used in the making of the product. I wouldn't have a problem with it if I was a vegan, but then I'm not a vegan. Same with wine - ordinary wine, vegetarian wine and vegan wine (Egg whites or so...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

Anticipation doesn’t really build though. The club just lose a month or more of warm weather where kids would be bagging their parents for the new kits. I’d also suggest we ended the season with a real feel-good factor around the place again. What a great time to release the kits, as others do. Ear...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Loader and Barrett have been called up by England U20 and Ireland U21 respectively so we have three players at the Toulon tournament. Josh Sims is also playing for England and so are a few of the young players we've been linked to on loan. Dwight McNeil looks like the star man. Barrett got 67 minut...

tidus_mi2 Good chance of Hull being in a relegation scrap with Adkins leaving.

Yep, had them down to do pretty decenly next season, obviously depends on who they bring in, but doesn't look good for them right now

Re: The way things are/were done

I think they are pretty much the same thing. The players signed by PC for example were rightly or wrongly bought into resolve that. Would still get round to whatever opinions they were giving in training were having zero affect from the outside at least A harsher way of putting it that maybe both Y...

Re: The way things are/were done

I quite liked Joey in his interview but getting a bit bored of his ‘didn’t want leaders’ thing Basically Clement made it clear there wasn’t any leadership on the pitch before he came and that was pretty evident in our dismal fall down the table. If Joey was a ‘leader’ as he claims to be, he really ...

All loanees back with their clubs All senior players out of contract have been released. All players we had out on loan are officially back with u...
