Re: Sone Aluko to China!

Hound Vydra was a strange one - could see he had it in him, it just didnt quite happen. Don't think it was the system etc, though obvs lost his confidence

Never got over being released by Watford, after playing a significant role in their promotion. Properly gutted apparently.

Re: VAR

Premier League managers will meet with Mike Riley, manager of the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL), on Thursday to discuss the video assistant referee (VAR) system. Riley, who heads the body responsible for the country’s leading referees, will meet the top flight’s northern-based m...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

You could argue that Matip is a big a loss to Liverpool, as Laporte is to City. He was their stand-out defensive player in their CL run last season, and as great as Van Dijk is, he's a far better player alongside him rather than Lovren. The Gomez of a season and a bit ago would be better cover, and ...

Re: BFTG Millwall

Yep, liked the look of Osho too. McIntyre looks to have nudged ahead of him for both Jose and Bowen. TBF I think all of the younger players on the first team fringes, give us a quite a strength in depth in terms of defence, albeit you wouldn't want any of the 5 senior players to be out of action for...

Re: BFTG Millwall

Baldock's going to be key to any success we have in the near future. He's the one frontman who could play with, and bring out the best, any of our other forwards. It is a total mystery why he was sidelined by Jose, particularly when he looked to have impressed pre-season. Really enjoyed that game, l...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Nottingham Forest (a) sponsored by Neil Webb

Got as far as the Meadow Ground before one of the boys saw the postponement news on Twitter. Drove into the City Ground players' car park just to check. TBF it had been pissing all the way up, but it's still a poor show that a club with their aspirations and history couldn't get in on. And th...

First time for me tomorrow. Did Meadow Lane circa 35 years ago. :?

Any decent pubs in Nottingham? Was going to give Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem a whirl, but note Greene King have taken it over.

Re: BFT ???????????????????????????????????????????

All true. But the point with the formation isn't necessarily what the formation is but just that we have one that is consistent . It's harder to sort all the issues you rightly mention when we keep chopping and changing formation (and starting players for that matter). It can be a 10-0-0 for all I ...

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

Referee stopped the Nice Vs Marseille match last night and took the players off the pitch after homophobic banner were being displayed Last weekend Nancy Vs Le Mans, Brest Vs Reims & Monaco Vs Nimes were all halted due to homophobic chanting and banners. Apparently it's been creeping in a littl...

Re: Have we sold the Mad Stad to the owners/someone else?

Not heard a lot with REP, but the fact that the previous Thai owners own some of the surrounding land worries me more than the current owners owning the stadium tbh Not that there is that much they can do with it I suppose I believe it’s part owned by the Dai’s, IIRC there was an REP. Development c...

Re: New Training Ground

There's going to be two domes as far as I can tell. One at The Forest, which I suspect will be the more public-friendly, community based. And probably a bit of sweetener for the school, for looking after their Academy kids. Planning was granted some time ago, but it's taking forever to get going. Th...

Re: New Training Ground

All category one academies are off limits. It is like Fort Knox trying to get into any of them unless you have connections with someone who needs to be there. There are some incredible facilities around the country. It would not have been hard to put the security between one pitch and the rest of t...

Re: VAR

Still think the interpretation of 'clear and obvious error' is the fundamental flaw in VAR. IMO, the VAR official should only contact the referee if either of these clearly definable issues has arised: – goal should be overruled if an offside offence has occurred – player sending off or booking shou...

Re: Next Season's Squad.

I tend to take everything posted on here with a pinch of salt and looking at the video of everyone hanging out at training there's no beef whatsoever between Kelly and Gomes. Hopefully it's a sign of him being used in the new season. Although obviously people who are trying to maintain the beef nar...

Re: VAR

The biggest improvement on VAR has to be around process - I still think replays should be shown on screens, so it is clear on what the referee is basing his decision. This was announced yesterday: Premier League clubs were today provided with an update on plans for the introduction of Video Assista...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

It basically only comes into effect next season, first professional contract is maximum 3 years. Good news that Claudio osorio signing a deal too, think he's been quite highly rated too. Nelson Abbey and Malachi Talent-Aryeetey will be signing professional contracts in due course too. Nelson's a Wo...
