Re: MATCHWATCH : Plymouth Argyle (a)

Didn’t go did he? Or was it just delayed him joining up? Just saw the headline

Re: MATCHWATCH : Plymouth Argyle (a)

No idea what’s going to happen here tbh. We’ll need to play better than we did against Luton I think - score flattered us in that really, despite the excellent result

Suspect it’ll be much the same team - maybe KE for one of the front 4, and Rino on the bench

Re: Ex Royals

I'd suggest that if we'd kept Wareham, we wouldn't have signed Marriott. Marriott's a better finisher but I think Wareham is a better all round player and with a 10 year age difference, their career trajectories are going in opposite directions. I think we wouldn't have intended to get Marriott. Bu...

Re: Ex Royals

It’s certainly a bit frustrating that we had him for a couple of years, got him to the point when he’d be a decent L1 striker and for whatever reason he moved on. I think he’d have done well for us had he stayed

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2024/25

Carter Bowdery has signed on loan for Hungerford. Came on as a sub on Saturday and impressed. Interesting that he’s the 5th Bradfield College pupil to get a pro football contract. Can’t be many private schools producing footballers, much more rugby and cricket territory. Very strong futsal and foot...

I enjoyed the commentary with it ‘Not the kind of thing anyone wants to see…’ - as I rewound it for the 20th time to laugh at it

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

Yes I’m not saying play long ball when you have Marriott, DK, and RWilliams as your targets. different outcome if you have a proper target and set up for it (which we actually did on the third goal - maybe more by luck than design)

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

Tbh I’ve no real issue with hoofball. Quite often more exciting and dynamic than the overdone play out from the back etc Obvs it has its limitations but I’d rather go forward directly and quickly (albeit with the correct profile of player) than continuously passing it backwards. Man City were one of...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2024/25

I think it’s a good loan for both and LR keeps banging on about loans so expected to see plenty more go out

I think they’ll try to get them both a higher level loan in Jan

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

Watching back, that D Williams assist was arguably the best bit of CF hold up play we’ve had all season. Brilliant stuff

Re: Richardson out

Results wise LR has done ok. No complaints on 10 from 6 We’ve not been a good watch but there may be good reasons for it He is a more direct manager, and we really don’t have the players to do that successfully for any period of time. A couple of astute signings in Jan and we might be a lot better o...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

The first half was pretty dreadful in retrospect. The pen was literally our only chance of any kind which was pretty shite We did at least create some opening second period. Flattered really by very good finishes from KE and Marriott Time to freshen up the midfield with Fraser I think. Savage and W...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

Definitely still a lot of work for us to do but that win was vital I think to hoepfully pause the negativity a little We still looked massively overrun in midfield, the constant long balls to 4 forwards who don’t win any of them at all, esp in the first half was pretty dire viewing DK and Williams d...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

Did t mind today’s performance. I mean we were pretty shit., but we showed some grit and determination something which has been lacking for weeks if not months.. I don’t mind being shit as long as we show a bit of grit in games. And and btw what a signing Derek Williams has been. My pots so far. Ye...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

Didn’t make it easy for ourselves at the end did we?

But positives to take, big 3 points and some great spirit shown

Actually entertaining second half as well

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h)

Snowflake Royal
bcubed Is Marriott tired or injured? If not I definitely wouldn't have taken him off

We were getting penned in so needed fresh legs up top.

Yids is looking leggy.

Is a bit weird to sub a striker just after they’ve scored again…but prob the right sub on this occasion.
