Euro 96 reprise

Anyone watched any if the Euro 96 repeats on ITV Hub? Have to say my memory of the tournament has been somewhat coloured by nostalgia and time. I remember the Scotland game and Gazza very fondly, but it really was a shocking performance for 80% of the game, with almost literally Gazza's only positiv...

Re: Season Ticket Refund?

The way I look at it is I get more than my fair share of entertainment for the amount of money I spend on my ST. I'm lucky enough that I can afford to pay it upfront and then go to the games I feel like. I've no interest in getting a refund. I've plenty of sympathy with reluctance for people's money...

Snowflake Royal I don't think Kitson is racist, I think he's an opinionated twat. He doesn't think before he speaks sometimes
That’s high praise there coming from the expert.

Sometimes is still better than never Spizz.

Re: Worst Reading Player

You sure? Where's he now...? He had third division written all over him. A competent back up at this level only. Now at the level he's better equipped at. I know football is all about opinions but this is another level. Karacan was a key part of our promotion but then spent three years out injured....

Re: Worst Reading Player

I know his name has already come up but surely Hope Akpan has to win this hands down. Not once do I ever remember him kicking the ball in the direction he intended to. Truly woeful. Whatever was Coppell thinking? Honorable mention to Liam Rosenior. He might have got away with his totally limited st...

Independent content creators would massively benefit on streaming and video services. There's absolutely tons of copyright abuse stifling creativity there with big rights owners taking revenue from them. Tom Scott has a pretty good video on why copyright law is horrendous given modern technology an...

Jagermesiter1871 People worried about our finances but we could easily be playing in the Prem next year.

Only if miraculously half of it goes bust and we don't.

Re: Finance

If it's in the public domain then anyone can access it for free. For enjoyment/entertainment/personal use purposes that may be reasonable (like none of us ever paying royalties when they sing happy birthday to a family member), but what if they were to profit from it by releasing a cover version of...

Re: 2019/20 Season - How will it end?

Can you two not read? When teams play their "home" games they will lose HFA (however much that is worth) When teams play their "away" games they won't suffer from playing in front of a partisan crowd (LOL) So the neutral grounds plan may take with one hand but it gives with the ...

Re: Dave Kitson`s plan to oust Gordon Taylor

I don't think Kitson is racist, I think he's an opinionated twat with an inflated sense of self worth and some reasonably well documented mental health issues. He doesn't think before he speaks sometimes.

He'd be a terrible PFA frontman for those reasons, much as I loved him as a player.

Re: Finance

But even outside of extreme examples - in 2005 the average Championship salary was about £2 to 2.5K a week. So, say 120K a year - 80K after tax. Out of which he'd have to pay his blooming accountant! You can easily see how you'd need to put away most of that if you're trying to make career earnings...

Re: Finance

If any of us compare our salaries to that of a carer then chances are we are, by comparison well rewarded - Does that mean we can afford to offer our employers some of it back? - probably not. Remember, this isn't the players being asked to donate to the NHS or charitable causes (which I'm sure som...

Re: Finance

I doubt many of us are earning many multiples of carer's salary Forbes,so tbh that whole post is hooey Average salary in the Reading area is around £40k.... sure some big earners (including footballers) push that upwards, but also plenty of careers/nurses/cleaners etc pushing it downwards. Dave Kit...
