Re: Brentford game postponed

That summer is already shorter than normal to make room for the World Cup. Players already had to play through last summer. If we make them play through this summer (to finish the season) and next summer (for the Euros) then there will be further issues with injuries and fatigue with players not ha...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

THere was Morrison block which perhaps came off his arm but it was a fierce shot and his arm was in a natural position. He gave a few really soft free kicks but overall thought any criticism pretty minor and not game changing. Yeah, that. Pen imo. Hit his left arm which looked outstretched. Confuse...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Huddersfield Town (a)

Overall uninspiring. Looks like even BBC Berks couldn't bother to show up. Not allowed to travel. Fake news !!! - they are there and available to hear on the audio purchase only- just not available on the video. They said they are in the Reading FC studio. Not sure why that means they couldn’t us t...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Huddersfield Town (a)

it was straight to the goalkeeper, never mishit. Well.. it 2asnt straight at him. He had to rush out about 10 yards towards the corner flag to get to it. But does that matter? Nope. It was a pass and the keeper picked it up It’s only a free kick if a deliberate pass back direct to the keeper. That ...

Royal Ginger Looks like Pauno put a rocket up Ejaria’s arse. Nothing particularly spectacular as yet but he looks to be trying harder.

Yes, was thinking this also. All over the pitch and more impetus

Re: MATCHWATCH : Swansea City (a) sponsored by a no pressure game

Makes sense not to rush Richards and Swift back.

Good to see Olise play - hopefully puts some of the rumourmongers at bay.

Re: Rival Watch

We may well do but if we miss out by a point or two then, so far, the 2nd half horror show at Bournemouth or the failure to beat 10 man Brumby including missing a pen would be just as culpable. Agree, unless you miss out on something after winning every other game, it’s hard to justify pointing at ...

Jagermesiter1871 Where are we seeing the Bowen/Gomes comments? Or is it just twitter guff?

From an article in The Athletic.

It’s very good journalism normally.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h) sponsored by Tony Barrass

With the injuries we have it’s all about scraping the three points Back 4 were all good. Esteves and Holmes particularly. Aluko good first half not so much second Would like to see Semedo and Ejaria given a break, both pretty poor overall. Laurent the boss again, Rino good esp in the first half Swi...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (h) sponsored by Tony Barrass

The second goal was a thing of beauty - will be hard to score a better team goal all season. And a cracking pass from Baldock.

Also nice to get a favourable screw up from a referee. We’ve had some shocking ones, but no idea how ref could think Tom Mc challenge outside area.

ok I've seen it and I am struggling to be positive about it

Anyone got anything?

Our points per game this season is much higher when Olise starts on the bench.

That is a good one
And pretty surprising

Hazy memory - I’ve now done the maths......it’s nowhere near as good, not much above 1 :|

Thinking I'm going to see the team before deciding whether to spend money on this. But more likely I will look at the team and somehow think we can still win and then hand over my tenner ok I've seen it and I am struggling to be positive about it Anyone got anything? Re: MATCHWATCH : Norwich City (h) sponsored by as tough as it gets

We would be ahead of Norwich at the top of the table if it wasn’t for shocking refereeing:

- our 3 disallowed pens vs We’d
- Wednesday’s 2 disallowed pens vs Norwich
- Norwich dive tonight

So they clearly are a strong outfit, but with competent refs we are leading this league

Gutting to lose to a shocking dive!

Was always going to be a struggle, but we could have snatched a draw but for the ref.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Norwich City (h) sponsored by as tough as it gets

Can see why the ref gave it but it's a blatant dive with bollocks all contact. Gibson completely sold himself though, terrible defending So much good work undone in a moment of madness. Yes unfortunate the sort of incident where the ref can be bought. In my view you eradicate that by banning the pl...

Slightly odd how this ref’s first 9 Reading games were all away from home.

Could be unique in that respect

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

I mention it more because people were suggesting we resign him in the summer. I think he cost them close to £2m. Generally they thought we were not a top 6 side on that performance but the respective substitutions changed the game, ours for the better, theirs for the worse. Did they gloss over the ...

CountryRoyal That’s the most “we’ll take the draw” substitution ever.

Ha! A few minutes later he assists the winner with a back heel :D
