Re: Rinhomota

I believe Gomes may see Ryan East as the best option for this role given the injuries, and expect him to at least be in the 18 this weekend. I totally understand that taking that sum for Bacuna was good financial business, but the fact that nobody else is able to play the position is probably the re...

Re: SPECULATION - MOHAMED EISA

Eisa scored against a Reading side at Hogwood this week. Portsmouth and Peterborough remain keen but Sunderland appear to have made the best bid so far, just shy of the £1.5m that it would take to land him. I'm not writing McNulty off at all, but personally I wish we had spent just a little bit extr...

Re: SPECULATION - MOHAMED EISA

Agree 100% this is exactly the player I would like us to sign. He's been improving steadily over two seasons and would be a great signing. We'd still need another striker, and plenty of other better players too though.

Re: CONFIMRED - John O’shea signs for Reading

The one thing O'shea will bring to the club is his experience of fighting losing battles game after game. Impressive that a 36 year old made 40 appearances last season. Better than many of our players. No suspensions or red cards either. Probably never got close enough to running (hence no injuries...

Casimir Ninga from Montpellier. It might make up for not signing Kodjia when we should have (not speaking in hindsight either).

I can assure you that the T&C's did say the Carabao Cup, Checkatrade Trophy and FA Cup games would not be available for video coverage.

Re: Royals on the Box/Internet Thread

The terms and conditions don't say anything about not allowing subscribers to watch their team against a non-subscribing team. They would not be allowed to get away with that so I don't think you have anything to worry about. I know somebody who has successfully signed up as an international subscri...

Re: Royals on the Box/Internet Thread

Season passes are available for the equivalent of £110.
Australia - AUD$185
Canada - CAD$190
EU - €130
USA - $140

So, are these just examples of costs equivalent to £110 or are they saying that if you live outside of UK/Ireland, EU, Australia, Canada and USA that you can't subscribe?

Re: Players you'd like us to sign thread

I would have been very satisfied if we had signed Cheikh N'Doye, and I think Birmingham have made a very smart move picking him up on a free from Angers. I always thought he would be out of our reach, but if they can afford his wages then I am sure we could have done, if interested. He's a powerhous...

Smashing bloke, and was a good player for us. Last I heard (recently) he was involved in the youth set up at Chesterfield, and I know prior to that he had been working at a club in Tanzania for a short stint.

Re: Eamonn Dolan RIP

Terribly sad news. A top bloke, a great professional and a massive success in his Academy work.

I agree, the naming of the Academy in his honour would be the most respectful way to permanently remember and recognize his amazing contribution to the club.

RIP Eamonn.

Re: The "who do you want next as manager "poll

None of those listed for me, so I voted other. I wouldn't want anyone with a Reading connection as it won't be anything like the club they would remember, it probably won't work out, and wouldn't be long before their 'legacy' is tarnished. Whether Brian was the right pick this time around or not, th...

Where in Saudi does this guy live? When I was working there I tried to convince a few of my Saudi colleagues to follow us, but although they're very interested in the Premier League (where we were at that time), they couldn't associate themselves with any team other than the usual big names. I do un...

Re: Summer Rebuild

If it's true (as being reported), that Steve Clarke won't even be meeting the board to find out the budget until next week, that's the latest evidence of what a shambles we have become over the last few years. One month on, has that really not been done? Of course, it can be different depending on t...

I just saw that too. The timing was unfortunate, but it would appear to be a good move for him. Hopefully his parting was amicable and that he has a good run supporting Teddy at Stevenage. I'll be back in a week to wish him luck at his next club

An excellent player for us, great passing ability and game awareness.

I was fortunate enough to know him quite well in those days and agree he was a genuinely top bloke too. I hope he makes a success of it there.

Re: Emergency loan window

He's gone to Qarabag in Azerbaijan on a short term contract until 31st December, at which point he will hope to find a team in a more serious league. Not that I think we were ever interested in another attacking player anyway.

Re: Emergency loan window

We shouldn't forget that it's not just a loan window open - free agents can also be picked up. And one that I would love to have at our club is Innocent Emeghara . He's a free agent (according to Sky Sports and the player himself) and is currently in England talking to suitors (apparently Premier Le...

Re: Cardiff bid for Sean Morrison

I thought he was a reasonable player but it's a good deal for us at £3m plus added clauses (assuming all or part reinvested). He's a decent 'stopper' but the centre back partnership never quite worked with Pearce (probably too similar). There isn't much to choose between the pair, but maybe a left-f...
