Re: England Vs. Spain

And in another scenario, we kept attacking Italy and lost the final 3-1. Football isn't binary. Re the above, I forgot Palmer too. We really do have an incredible core of young players - I think Trent is the oldest of the seven or eight, and is only 25. For once I am in agreement with you on someth...

Re: England Vs. Spain

We did our best. We can hold our heads high Yeah. Impossible situation when your two biggest players are shit all tournament and a negative to the whole team constantly. Kane is gonna be a scapegoat. Best he stays in Germany. He really is poor. As for Bellingham, I know he's young but I expected mo...

Re: England v Netherlands

The ref apparently said it wasn't a penalty (to Dumfries) and VAR changed the decision. Whatever the truth of the matter, I hate it when games are decided by such decisions. Almost enough to put me off football entirely. I hate the Netherlands as a squad, country and people, but I have to say Tulip...

Re: England v Netherlands

#h8 Holland #h8 Tulip Nasty like the German team I see. The irony of saying that under a picture of a Dutch player spitting at a German player. Followed by Weghorst's first action being raking an achilles. And how is that in any way to do with me personally? That comment was personal an...

Re: England v Netherlands

Bookies don't agree The bookies ask the Germans who they are supporting? England have a slightly higher win_expectation than the Dutch based on actual numbers that matter The Dutch media are hardly unbiased in this situation. I reckon if English press did the same thing we'd show the German fans th...

Re: England v Netherlands

Germans hate the Dutch (understandable) more than the English, right St.P? They are mostly supporting the Netherlands as the team most likely to beat the Spanish (still smarting from losing in the quarters). Or so the Dutch media are reporting anyway. The hatred is more Dutch towards Germans than t...

Re: England v Switzerland

De Ligt, De Jong (big loss), Blind and a couple of others. Pre-tournament injuries Been missing the whole tournament though. Blind played a few minutes in the the quarters and de Ligt is on the bench. My point was more along the lines of if you're missing key players you're not 'really' the 7th-ran...

Re: The general Euro2024 chit chat thread

LUX France were certainly unable to trouble them. But Spain were not as good as in the first half,

France closed them down somewhat in the second half, but have had problems scoring in the whole tournament.

LUX Scary for England. And Holland. These two teams are different class.

Spain are a different class. It's weird that the BBC commentators have only just noticed.

Re: England v Netherlands

Tulip's adopted nation does play good football and can still win so its a bit different for her. You have two teams, one is dreadful to watch and the other decent, you're going to quite easily fall on the side of wanting entertainment over dreadful victory. Yes, fair assessment. I also love the Ora...

Re: England v Netherlands

Looks like it. May the best team win! Isn't it a case of being old ,when winning isn't everything? Add me to your list of those that want to be entertained and if the end result is also what we prefer then even better. Ooof. Well, I'm okay with that but are you going to take that tulip? :D I am old...
