Re: Should Reading change our club crest...

At what point is your lawyer going to put in a claim for royalties? The thought had passed my mind, especially when the Russian bandit was in charge. I have since found out that it has been registered by the club. Being a long suffering fan, I think they need all the money they can get right now. Ho...

Re: Should Reading change our club crest...

Royal Badgeman I confess,it was one of 4 designs I sent in to JM, in response to a call for fans to send in designs. Boyd Butler then forwarded it to an agency as it was hand drawn. They tweeked it,swapping the lion and the crown round.

Re: Should Reading change our club crest...

I'm up for multiple different crests, Our historic ones for example are as part of our identity as the current one but I see no reason to make a change now. Yes by all means tweak it as has been the case since we first moved to this design but do we really need to mess with our identity? - we're han...

Re: Should Reading change our club crest...

Reading4eva it led to me thinking about Reading's crest. The wording is hard to see when the image is too small. Also the lion and the crown are difficult to see.
rather than change the logo for everyone, why not just visit specsavers?

Re: STs for season 2019/2020

With talk of further national or regional lockdowns, this from the FAQ is quite reassuring - Our non refundable up front payments will not be lost, but will be rolled over to 2021/22 Should sufficient capacity to accommodate all Season Ticket Holders NOT be achieved during the 2020/21 season, there ...

Re: Chant Lyrics

Somewhere I have the lyrics to an ancient Reading FC song from the early Elm Park days which has lyrics about the biscuitmen being bright and gay as in the old less common nowadays meaning of the word. Being gay is okay Forbs. Either type of gay. Correct. However, any chant with the word gay in is ...

Re: Veljko Paunović - Whelmgauge

What would get the fans back on side is if Nigel Howe's replacement gave an interview and admitted things have been bad, offered a promise of some stability, set out the owners goals and the plan the club have to reach it. Maybe also talk about the FFP situation, told the truth about Bowen leaving ...

Mr Dai Yongge sounds overwhelmed - presumably quoting the tosh sold to him my the agent/advisor who put this move together Owner Mr Dai Yongge said, “With vast experience of top flight football as both a player and a coach across Europe and in the United States, and with proven pedigree of successfu...

Re: Bowen out rumour

Would be pretty funny if this was all just a wind up by some kids on twitter and Bowen doesn't go anywhere. We can confirm that Mark Bowen has departed Reading Football Club. Having stepped away from his position as First Team Manager a few days ago, Bowen was offered a new role within the Royals’ ...

Ranty McRantface I would be disappointed with Bowen if he accepted this. If he really wants to be a manager he should refuse the Dai's offer and find a job elsewhere to be a football manager.

He's done just that.

Re: What goes on inside our owners' heads?

Orientals make very good workers, for example. If it's racist to post a general statement like "Orientals make very bad workers" then surely it's racist to post the opposite? I'm sure there are good and bad Oriental workers of different nationalities, ethnic races, religions and genders -...

Re: Season 20/21

Other than foreign players not coming, why would playing standards drop? If it went semi-pro and salaries were neglible, then the best players would perhaps look at overseas top leagues that are perhaps Championship level in terms of quality but offering good wages. I can't see the Championship goi...

Re: What goes on inside our owners' heads?

Perhaps they are running the club how they run their businesses? - Maybe they do not yet see that business and sport are not the same thing? For all the chopping and changing, if we'd just stuck with any one manager and backed them we'd probably be in a better position now both financially and in le...

Re: Shall we just set up the phoenix club now?

I was just texting the exact same thing to my lads. Amalgamate with Reading City, at least then we'd have a few players. I'm against amalgamations of any kind. Imagine if a big London club went to the wall and they decided to amalgamate with Reading FC? Suddenly we'd have all these outsiders in the...

Based in our recent history, he probably see's it as a temporary measure for a few months until the next manager gets sacked.
