Re: Reading FC team of the decade

Hendo
SCIAG Blackman has to be in contention, outside that run of 10 games where he was unplayable he was utter utter pony. And he cost us £1.5m when that still meant something.

Although we did get a reported £3m for him
Contender for worse signing and best sale/best piece of business then.

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

The club and players don't want extra away fans . Do you have a source for this claim? I can see logic in either decision, I guess it would be more clear cut if the ground was a sellout week in week out - home fans are more profitable than away fans (no away fan is going to spend big in the megatst...

Green
The Cube On the fares to "Reading stations" issue, there is recent local precedent. Oxford Parkway is ticketed separately from Oxford.

I think this is the closure I was seeking - thanks The Cube.
A 6 min journey between the two at a cost of £2.40

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

If the point of Club 1871 is still to support the players, improve the atmosphere etc etc with positive chants/singing/clapping and not to antagonise the away fans/have a sing song with the away fans then why do they need to be sat in the away end next season? Why not make the Club 1871 area a secti...

Re: Gunter - did Stam make him shit?

So he's a really useful squad player. If only he was being paid squad-player wages... That's not his fault. Let's assume he is with us until his contract expires, Yes there may be an appearance fee payment of he plays but if he is the best available player to play a particular role then it suits al...

Re: If Reading didn’t exist

If Reading didn’t exist and you had to support another club in the championship who would it be..... If Reading ceased to exist I wouldn't have any interest in the Championship and certainly wouldn't support another team. I'd probably start supporting Maidenhead United as I feel more of an affinity...

Re: BBC Berks Reading FC Podcast interviews

Marcus Hahnemann one is up, interesting story (Which he also told on BBC Berks before the Luton game) about the Reading delegation going to a reserve game to watch Marcus but he wasn't playing, but they saw him warming up the goalkeeper who was playing and then booting all the balls back from the go...

Re: Green park station/south Reading station

Does it? Where has this been announced? I used the words might and assuming...... no idea yet what the situation will be. I doubt any random rocking up to Reading station will get to Green Park for free, but if you're travelling from say Paddington to Green Park you may find it's the same price as ...

Re: Green park station/south Reading station

For people travelling from the town centre and back - does this provide any real benefit over the bus? It might be cheaper if you're travelling to Reading by train, assuming "Reading or Reading West" on the ticket becomes "Reading, Reading West or Green Park". Does it? Where has...

Re: Have we sold the Mad Stad to the owners/someone else?

Been discussed here a fair bit. It’s an accounting thing, same people still own the club and the stadium but when it was done it gave the club a cash injection. Likewise the training ground. It’s daft in many ways because the owners would by all accounts have just invested the money but that isn’t ...

Not sure what the issue is with that?

Yes - and then had the recurring hamstring injuries the season after That was a horror season for him tbh. I noted is that Mark McNulty's Dad liked McClearys post on twitter Hmm... could there yet be a future for McNulty at Reading under Bowen? - He signed a 4 year contract in 2018, he's 27 and he's currently on loan at Sunderland so will presumably be back with us at some point unless we accept a trans...

Re: The idiots of Twitter thread

I really didn't like the way Gomes decided to deal with the players he didn't want. One thing I noted is that Mark McNulty's Dad liked McClearys post on twitter - there's a fair group of players that have felt hard-done-by because of how they've been treated since January and probably bonded over i...

Re: BFTG - Luton

Swift is not the player Stam bought, he is certainly not the player of the last two seasons. In the last 2/3 games he’s played at the highest level and been effective, it’s like a new signing. And when he doesn’t work there’s Ejaria.... bit difficult for opposition to shutdown both of these players...
