Re: Olise being sold for £8m?

According to the internet Olise has a release clause of just £8m. If correct it looks like we could lose him for a paltry figure compared to what he's worth. This would be a big blow for Reading if true If that was correct he would already be gone. It's possible that any release clause that may exi...

Re: New FFP rules

If our owners have a second profit making business and they create a holding company that this profit making business and Reading FC's current holding company roll up into, would the FFP rules be based on the new company at the top of the pyramid?

Re: Players bumping into each other

Saw the thread title and immediately thought of our home game against, I believe Neil Warnock's Sheffield United where two Utd players went for the ball and collided. It was funny at the time.

Re: Reading Fans Living the Dream

royalp-we How good does does it feel to have not one, but two former STH’s line up regularly for us?!
Clearly they're determined whereas the rest of us are content to just listen to the radio/watch ifollow because we can't use our ST's

Re: Fragments of Elm Park

I remember the gantry above the Southbank where I assume the radio commentators all sat, accessible via a very tall ladder - There was one incident where a female was delivering teas and struggled to climb the ladder. She wasn't wearing a skirt but still managed to draw the attention of the Southban...

Re: 90s Man U vs 20's Royals.

It'll be interesting to map the academy outputs to the who was running it, who the first team manager was, what league we were in etc, who the owners were I think McDermott having worked at the academy and knowing that crop of players meant he knew they were good enough for the first team, plus thin...

Re: Deadline Day

morganb Do you think that the money saved on bringing in new players and loans now will be ploughed into renewing the contracts of the talent we already have?
Not right now, unless we have a star player out of contract at the end of the season.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Coventry City (h)

HNA? in the 2000's Don't you think we could use the same match report for the last three Reading v Coventry games at the madhouse?
We take the lead without playing well, Coventry look a very poor side, come out in the second half like a team transformed, 2-1 the final result.

Already under contract to the Yonge’s Chinese club so not sure what the references to buy out clauses aren’t all about. +1 I imagine the transfer fee and clauses may be more a case of where the owner wants the money to go for tax and financial fair play reasons, in fact if the another club the owne...

Re: Should Reading change our club crest...

All the uproar across Everton & Port Vale about changing there club crests has got me thinking. Everton said their old crest was badly represented on TV, tablets and in computer games. It was also difficult to replicate, which led to a change. The Everton fans are not fans of this of course, an...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

I reckon much easier back then, European Cup was for champions of each league only and the draw I believe was like the FA Cup now; ie no seeding and home/away legs; so if you messed up against a weak side you had another leg to rectify it. In their other final, Forest played FC Malmo - could never ...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

How long is a long time? Stoke, Southampton and Bournemouth all had or are having fair periods of top flight football but don't think anyone would consider them big clubs. West Ham also comes to mind. Will Wolves ever be a big club for example? Reckon they are one manager change away from dropping ...
