Re: Rumour - Rob Dickie

We are hardly out of the woods with FFP even with the players leaving this summer so we still don't have much wriggle room. We may knock £100,000 a week off the wagebill with departures but that's only £5m a season for a club currently losing over 3 times that annually. We lost £18m last year and I...

Too right.

Not hopeful, though. Ox have a nasty habit of being lucky in big games. As I see it anyway.

So it seems

Re: Squad for 2020/21

Tshibola available on a free.. i wouldn't say no. I would. His career highlight to date is a handful of good appearances pre-injury almost 5 years ago. He royally screwed his career by pushing for the move to Villa when he wasn't ready and hasn't done enough since leaving to earn another shot at th...

Re: Squad for 2020/21

Replacing Gunter, Moore and Swift with Osho, McIntyre and Olise makes big sense financially, but any squad needs the balance between youth and experience. I'm not sure we'd get the same output from Ejaria/Olise over a season as we've had from Swift. I'd also want a more experienced CB in the ranks i...

Re: BFI Follow Huddersfield

Fair play to Osho. I thought he was set for a career in League 1 at best after the Ipswich trial, but he's clearly taken it upon himself to prove the doubters wrong. He can cover RB and CB; I'm sure he'll have a role next season if not a regular starter. Could be 4th choice CB and 2nd choice RB at o...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (a) sponsored by Sean Evers

What is Puscas on? 13? Very good return for 1st season in the Champions, but people can't wait to get on his back after a couple of bad games. Absolutely. Especially as he has been in and out. Not a bad return at all I feel like a lot of the criticism is fair but, on social media in particular, the...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Luton Town (a) sponsored by Sean Evers

Just wondering the last time we had a 20+ goal striker, Meite has 5 games to get 4 goals . him and Puscas have 28 goals between, that's not too shabby in a struggling team. What is Puscas on? 13? Very good return for 1st season in the Champions, but people can't wait to get on his back after a coup...

Re: Would this ex-players team get promoted?

Fosu over Henry too. The 1st 11 would be right in the mix, but not the depth to last the distance over 46 games.

Pearce as 3rd choice CB, and Sigurdsson would walk into it.

Re: Back from I Follow Luton

No problem with Moore but feels like the right time for player and club to move on whilst we can still probably command a decent fee for him. He seems to be getting stale here and his career needs a new push and we need to freshen up the defence. Next season is Morrison and McIntyre to start for me...

Re: Back from I Follow Luton

A lot of comments on how poor Luton were today, but they were unbeaten since the restart and looked like making a decent fist of their relegation battle. Many would have taken a point before kick off, so 5-0 is a great result. Let's give ourselves proper credit where it's due.

Re: Wigan in Administration

I guess you can't perform due diligence on motivations and intentions, which is what you really need. Dodgy owners buying up companies to extract value unfortunately happens outside of football too. So I guess the question is really whether company law is sufficient for football clubs. We can't move...

Re: Swift to... Southampton

SCIAG Yeah £5m would be disappointing after the sorts of fees Hammond used to get but in the current climate might be the best we can get.

Hammond was a genius. £500k for Hughes. £3m for post-ACL Sonko. How much did we get for Blackman off the back of a 10 game purple patch?

Re: Wigan in Administration

I'm only just realising what an utter shit show this is. When I saw the headlines, I thought it was just another case of financial mismanagement. But even if this gambling fraud thing is false, this is an utter disgrace. Nobody understands who the owner is or the source of funds. Into administration...

Re: Wigan in Administration

Basically, if you're going to break the rules do it properly so your squad is good enough to be 12 clear of the drop.

We should just ignore FFP and take a points hit one year. Then we're left with a better squad who can compete for promotion in the future

Re: Swift to... Southampton

As one of our better players and a player who has been here a while I expect slightly more from him. I want to see him take games by the scruff of the neck and get his teammates going, he just seems to go missing when the chips are down. Interesting point I've always wondered about this. If players...

Re: Swift to... Southampton

He has talent but has been inconsistent for years, this season included. I refer to all the posts following our hammering against Brentford. If we're to have a clear out, I'm not against getting a decent fee for Swift.

Re: Swift to... Southampton

Market has changed. £8m+ not realistic in a Covid world. £5m+ add ons would be a good bid. Current £3.5m not good enough yet.

Re: Rival Watch

Hound so they really need to keep their decent run going? Would put them back on 38 points and bottom of the table by 3

Their run in involves back to back games against Barnsley, Hull and Charlton. You'd think they need at least 6 points from those 3.
